feel the music, take it slow, watch some music videos and practice in the mirror if you have no moves. I suggest Usher and/or Michael Jackson. You will succeed.
That Ted Danson art is miserable. Why would anyone create Ted Danson art in the first place?!

Just be yourself, smile alot (can't emphasize that enough), and treat your partner with utmost respect. I don't know your sexual orientation, but most women love perfect mannerisms at these kind of things.
Dancing, it's not hard at all. just go with the music, you can even get pointers from people around you. But always remember, SMILE CONSTANTLY. That is the cardinal rule.

Do what Will Smith said in Hitch. Just keep your arms to your side and go side to side and keep pace with the music. If that fails you can be like me in highschool and just stand around talking to other people or just wander around looking like a giant swell guy.

the XTC isn't a bad idea actually if you can find it, but it's hard to get pure XTC. if you do, the rest just comes to you.
i can never get myself to dance unless i'm really into the song and intoxicated and "feeling it" or on ketamine, dexedrine or some other recreational drug and "feeling it" otherwise i'd be forcing myself and that is gay. especially to shitty music, which most "dance" music falls under
why would you want to dance to top 40 garbage anyways? i'm guessing that's the shit they play at proms thesedays, that or shitty rave music or reggaeton. fuck dancing, it's for girls and metrosexuals and homos. dance to merzbow or SPK. ugh
