The Rise of the Machines thread reminded me. It's a television series set between Terminator 2 and 3.

From the
wiki:
"Main characters
* Sarah Connor (Lena Headey), is still having nightmares about the coming holocaust and Terminator robots.
* John Connor (Thomas Dekker) is 15 years old. Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which took place in 1995, stated that John was 10 years old and thus was born in 1985. Specifically his birth date is given as February 28th, 1985. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines which took place in 2003, stated that John was 22 years old and thus was born in 1981. T3 amends this clash by retroactively stating John was 13 during T2 and not 10; however, this may be a moot point as script reviews suggest that the leads will be doing a time jump from 1997 to our time.
* Cameron Phillips (Summer Glau) is a girl who attends school with John. She is also a Terminator, but an unknown model from the year 2027. She is programmed to protect John Connor. Her abilities have not yet been revealed but, apparently she can eat food.
* James Ellison (Richard T. Jones) is the lead FBI Agent who investigates a shooting where the Connors are involved.
"
For fuck's sake!
Who wants to wager that Summer Glau's character will be an acrobatic kung-fu Terminator?
There will almost certainly be some "romantic" bullshit and a trite, hackneyed rehash of the "robots trying to understand emotion" thing.
Maybe this will lead to some kind of "Redemption Of The Machines" idiocy.
Picking a young actor for John Connor is an obvious demographic ploy.
Another example of how something that could be intelligent and good is turned into garbage.
I already hate the show and know that it sucks.
edit:
This guy had a much better idea. Obsessive technical detail- I would have all that stuff but not explain it. I hate it when there is too much explication.
Have it be set in the future. No time travel. No cheesy musings on the Human Spirit. Hyper-efficient terrified uber-survivalist humans scrounging, hiding, moving, covering their tracks, setting traps, seeding decoys.
Reality for them would be a system of concentric shells extending along several dimensional axes: a neverending litany of survival precautions. Toxins, virii, bacteria, scurry-mines, etc. salted all over the place, and you have to save your waste for fertilizer and to avoid tracking. Food? We're talking microfarming, SCP, guerilla gardening.
On and on.
Especially good is the section on Skynet Tactics.

My dentist's name is John Connor..shhh.. don't tell the robots. Terminator 3 sucked and this series will definitely suck. The funny part (and depressing) is that people will probably watch this show enough for it to make it to a second season.
Sometimes its hard not to blow your brains out when they make a terminator tv series.

I never said I was looking forward to it. It was more a "beware" post than anything. I'm also fearful for Terminator 4 which still has not signed the Governator and I will not see unless he is part of it. And by part I mean lead.

Maybe it will be Man's ultimate enemy.... Man itself!
Actually I would hope for some future warfare, having the end of T3 being The End of All Things(tm) and John Connor talking to various military outposts and HAM radio operators. That means in 4 is set chronologically after it it will have to be the war in the future, or some point of gathering/survival/reconstruction.

I was hoping that John Connor would have died before T4

Very very very bad idea! Do these people want robots to take over? It has to be some wierd fetish they have. Dominate me you superior Mechanical Master. Oh yeah! I've been a bad human, so imperfect and illogical. THat's right, spank my fleshy ass!
