Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.
I sometimes forget how sublime a properly made Daiquiri can be, especially in hot weather. The original, I mean, not those newfangled strawberry or banana flavored frozen things. They have their place, but come on. The Daiquiri is a real drink, a downright manly drink when made with the right ingredients in the right proportions, and in the right context.
Make this. Tell me it isn't excellent.
Daiquiri
2 oz white rum (Havana Club if you can find it)
1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 to 3/4 oz sugar syrup (depending on how tart the lime is)
Shake well with lots of ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. Sip, savor, and ponder life's mysteries. Then have another.
