The EMULATORS and ROMS thread

Engage in EMULATOR/ROM related conversation.
Post links, cheats, eastereggs, etc. etc...
...and don't forget about making out with good old hot Nostalgia.
Of course only the owners of the original versions of the games are allowed to DL the posted Roms. ( we don't want any trouble with no one, ey? )
I start with IMO one of the few REAL games ever made:
Metroid.
An example of how to make a good game. The GB/NES/SNES games were so addictive.
I haven't played the recent FPS versions, but that doesn't matter anyway, since this is about about ROMS.
The atmosphere, the concept, the music in the old Metroid games... Pure win.

Rock'n Roll Racing. Best racing game ever. And highly addictive as well.

Just dig up the torrents.
I've got nearly every English game for both SNES and NES.
Not to mention Gameboy and Sega.
And of course I own them.

I've got acouple of favorites:
Shadowrun for SNES or Genesis (Genesis is abit more free roaming and true to the PnP however I prefer the SNES version personally)
Front Mission for SNES: Turn Based Squad Strategy with mechs.
Starflight for Genesis: A great translation of the PC classic.
Superbomberman for SNES: If you can get it to connect with a friend it's pretty awesome.

Fucking right.
I've got all the gba games fo realxz and the two primes for gamecube, the first one is pretty good, and I recently bought myself the snes one. except the battery's dead and it doesn't keep saves too long
it's a pain in the ass to play on a keyboard too.
Chrono Trigger is pretty legit, i like having save states for it.

Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger where the two games I mostly played back in the old emulator days. I also played Echo The Dolphin and Streets of Rage 2 and kicked some serious ass.

I got myself a joypad for the reason that keyboard control indeed sucks donkeyballs.
Could someone post a SNES Tetris version, for those who own the original game?
SuperH, could you tell me more about the FPS Metroid games? Are there Metroids at all? They're extinct as far as I know, so are they just necro-luvin' the franchize or did they come up with something good? Someone, probably a cunt, said, that the FPS Metroid games rev-o-loo-shun-ized console games.
Post some spoilers, etc.

still looking for some PSX1 "roms".
I played SNES Harvest Moon pretty long, it was very addictive, also i had a girlfriend there and many cows and chickens, yeah. Thats my life.
Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana were pretty dope, too. 8 out of ten games are shit, i think. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Pizzatime and those frogs who punch everything with their big fists, meh i cheated through those games.

I never played this toad game, coz it seemed to me like a total TMNT rip off.

They take place in between the first and second metroids, so yes they're around. The reason they're around is I guess the same reason they're around in the first one, the space pirates take them everywhere?
I'm not sure how ridley manages to come back in every single one though, after you kill him / her.
The first one I liked because the bosses were reasonable, you could beat them easily once you learned the pattern to it. But the second one, you kinda needed to have good luck and couldn't avoid being hurt by some bosses... really shitty.

Earthbound is the only game I played fully on an emulator, everything else I just don't feel like putting time into cause I stole it and its on a computer.
I'm thinking of trying shadowrun though.
edit: Do you guys have a controller you play with or do you just use the keyboard?

BattleToads and Double Dragon.
Secret of Evermore.
Earthbound was entertaining.
Chrono Trigger and Secret of Maya are givens.
Soul Bringer or something along those lines was pretty good as well.
