So, my project group finally handed in our report yesterday, which we had been working on for five months, and decided to go see this as a celebration.

I'm split between finding it good and well done and calling it utter crap. There are some parts which are quite funny and well though over and have really hit the spot, and some points where you just want to go "come on, enough with the stereotypes already". Plus, it's like there's too much storyline in it to be able to fit into one movie, even one so long. And yet, they sort of have managed to answer some questions which were just left hanging in the two first movies. Meh. I really can't say.

Anyone else seen it?

Part 2 was the utter shit, and no, I'm not speaking in riddles like Subhuman.

I can only assume that the ending of the trilogy was even shittier D:

I really did not care for it. It seemed bloated?

It was a giant mess of a movie but Kiera Knightly is probably at her hottest in this one. it looked like they filmed a bunch of movies and just ham fisted them together.

Agreed. Way too many things going on at the same time. But still, I can't call myself to call it bad. Why? Why is this?

I wonder that too. Being a Disney movie and shit... For a popcorn movie, it was good, anyway.

My favorite scene: Mercer's death. tentacles.

qfe

they simply went overboard with very dumb supernatural elements, and thus everything from the first and second movies seemed incredibly trivial. honestly, giant negro goddess - what the fuck is that shit?

You are a tool of Disney marketting.

I expect you to explain the above post, Susan.

As for PotC, I can't be bothered enough to watch such a mainstream abomination. I haven't watched a piratearrrrr movie since Hook.

It's a movie based on an amusement park ride, were you expecting Citizen Kane? :aiee:

For the record I do love the ride when those cannons are going off an splashing all around your little boat. Have to drop acid and go to Disneyland when the kid is older.

Now not everyone is supposed to agree. There has to be a fight over Citizen Kane's cult status once in a while.

I think there was only one or two people who actually standed up for it. We are basically all in the same category of awesomeness.

Citizen Kane was only good during its era as the most influential bits of it were technical gobbleygook that's commonplace nowadays.

And "F for Fake" was better anyway :lalala:
