Should G-Funk make a comeback in the contemporary rap scene?

Polls are so tacky so let's discuss like civilized men.
Personally I believe that g-funk could and undoubtedly should make a comeback as a primary form of hip-hop. The music had just so much soul to it other than this boring, plastic-wrapped "gangsta" garbage. Perhaps the gangsta cliche it brought to the table has run dry but there's still a lot to do with the artform (see Madvillain's "Bistro"). Dre's "Detox" is coming out sometime this year so we have that to look forward to.
Plus, I just miss them ol' sine-waves

Anything but this black trash that these white bitches blare.
The memory of rap needs to be blown off the face of the earth.. along with country music. Maybe then white kids can stop doing poor impressions of swell guy.

Dre owns the plastic wrapping factory. If I remember though, his 2001 record had some good stuff on it.

Without Dre, no Eminem, without Eminem no 50 Cent, without 50 Cent no G-Unit. Dre totally liek destroyed it with a chain reaction.
edit: Fools.

Yes, but you can't deny that Dre's music was good.

I can. Because it wasn't bad. But it wasn't good.

No way man. Dre is the real deal, from the capital CPT, home of the OGs. Dre himself even said detox would be different from his previous works in terms of lyrical content and even if his lyrics soon became gangsta cliches, you can't deny his style or his utter flow

I wouldn`t call his tracks so good, there were some good beats, which were overused after that
![tard D:](./images/smilies/tard.gif)
and yeah in the end he is still the same lip stick wearing dude. His next album, meh, probably featuring 50 cent and Eminem.

A new madvillain album? Or solo MF Doom? 'Cause I know he's doing one with ghostface killah and that should be pretty dope

uh liek what really is the difference between most modern day gangsta rap production (ringtone beats) and g-funk? sounds the same to my philistine ears. combining g-funk lines with jazzy production a la madlib/j dilla might be neat, i don't see what else you could do with it
dre's music was alright, he's a pretty horrible rapper though

madvillain 2 is coming up in addition to the ghostdoom album. youtube "monkey suite", it should be one of the songs on it, it's pretty okay.

I love people who hate rap simply because they are incapable of finding any amount of rhythm. I bet it really sucks for you guys to realize black people are still cooler than you and thus the driving force behind modern culture.
In any event, G-funk was cool but its moment has passed. And while everyday I thank God himself Cam'ron doesn't have a career the majority of what's floating around right now doesn't have much to say. Kanye's got some good tracks but the majority of his shit's overhyped--like a lot of producer-turned-rappers, his production still outweighs his lyrical content.
I've been getting a lot more into old school/'alternative' rap lately. Craig Mack, oldschool Busta Rhymes, supplemented with some newer stuff: The new Roots album, Lupe Fiasco, and my personal new-favorite is Saul Williams. Started out as a beat poet, check out some of his stuff online.
PS: Wu-tang Clain ain't nothin' to fuck with. I'm definitely looking forward to the Ghostface/Doom collaboration.
