Fallout: noobquestion about the military base

Hello

IÃ‚Â´m new in this forum and IÃ‚Â´m new in the Falloutworld too.

I get Fallout last weekend and I love it.

But now I have a problem:
How can I destroy the vats ? I killed and I can go into the military base until the third basement. The elevator behind the great mined room is out of order and I canÃ‚Â´t switch of the green barriers to take tho working elevator.

Plese help.

use your repair skill on the forcefields, if it's low just keep doing it over and over.

Also, drop ticking explosives right next to the emitter and stand back.

I keep getting this wierd thing where when I do that the game locks up, every time.

I used to always get that when I put dynamite in the Water Merchant's desk.

But it's just so damn fun.
