So, as the perceptive forum member will know, I was just recently in the States for five weeks. During my two weeks with a host family in Phoenix I rumbled through loads and loads of bookstores and came across a bargain priced George Carlin book named "When will Jesus bring the pork chops?". I thought it looked funny and bought it. I've yet to regret it. It contains a great deal of material from some of his live shows and some bits and pieces written especially for his book.
Anyway, so the question is:
Should I look for more stuff from this guy? Is he better live than written or vice versa? Will someone buy and send me a dvd with, please? And when WILL Jesus bring the pork chops?

I personally always found George Carlin to be a genius. If you can catch him live, do so, if not, his books are always entertaining.

Carlin is legendary.
Worth collecting his books.
The video stuff is stand-up comedy. Varies in quality.
Angry person who hates idiots and ... everything else.
Varies in quality.
Still worth it.
Good stuff.

Definitely buy all his works. Let him dominate your soul and hump your dog, if you're not a very opinionated political person, that is. If you just laugh at everything, you'll love everything he has to offer. He's better than Richard swell guy, Chis swell guy, and Dave swell guy combined.

He's my second favorite comedian, right there behind Bill Hicks. Carlin is a fucking genius who manages to keep up with the times without growing stale.
His latest hbo special is truly amazing, and can be watched in its complete form on google video. Type in "life is worth losing". I saw him live about 3 years ago up here in seattle, and all i can say is its a damned shame he's close to dying.

He's like 70, I don't see him going to the gym to bulk up after a midlife crisis or something. Cut the man some slack.

George Carlin is not fat. He is an old man. The fat fucks he refers to are the 20-40 year olds that carry like two extra people around with them. Its disgusting. America blows ass and is awesome at the same time.

I think i saw part of one of his stand ups on TV and he wasn't that funny. He just used fuck a lot and talked about how humans are so fucking curious that they collect their toe nail clippings. I watched it for about 5 minutes before I turned the channel.
edit: i'm pretty sure it was him, does he use a lot of swear words in his sketches?

Carlin is the original inventor of "7 Words you can't say on Television," the man is known for his ability to swear.

the toe nail thing actually ties in nicely with the rest of that current sketch, though it is a bit odd and honestly not as funny as his other stuff. kinda just ties in to odd behaviors that he's observed. That whole show though, is not one of my favorites of his, but in its whole, really isn't bad.

Oh snap, I'm about to clip my toenails! I don't know why anyone would save them and not save their bugars and other things that come off of their body. That makes me wonder how much waste has been produced from my body since I was born. I don't know if I would include shit, piss, vomit in the count as it was not part of my body before I ingested it, but I suppose bugars require some water ingestion for them to leak down into your nostrils....
So I would count
Toenails
Bugars
Ear Wax
Dead Skin
Pus (out of pimples, infections, etc...)
Semen
Hair that falls out..
Anyone that has anything to add or subtract, please do.
EDIT: Oh shit, almost forgot scabs!

Fixed.
Carlin is okay. His material was groundbreaking for its time but now he's merely funny.

He's evolved into a angry old cunt rather than the cutesy 'hippy dippy weatherman" he started as.
