When did you lose yours?
I played fallout for the first time in 2001.

I was with Fallout from the beginning.
I spotted Fallout in an early preview on a PC ACTION CD.
It was a video in the category called
CYBERTALK (even back then I thought it's a gay name for a preview section) and it was basically interviews and ingame footage with the old triangular menu and where the hexagon was still black on the inside.
I was intrigued. After a while they released the demo and I played it obsessively for it was so much fucking fun.
I was hooked up.
I bought Fallout the day it came out.

And it took you this long to find DaC?

'97, when it came out.
Played the demo a lot too. The pure grittiness and chunky minigun goodness got me.
Come to think of it, why am I not playing fallout 2 right now...

Not really. I just never really bothered to register. As 'Van Buren' got 'announced', I became more active. But stupid I was when I was scared that Van Buren will be shit, as no one knew that Bethesda is gonna fuck it up so badly...

No kidding. I remember everyone complaining that Van Buren would suck, now we all look at it and go "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN!" Sure, it'd probably have sucked compared to FO1 and FO2, but even the demo seemed light years ahead in actual fallout-esque gameplay then FO3.

97 but i never really thought of it as the best game ever. Just one of the best. Old "Ultima online" beats all games.

I had the demo on some pc gamer CD... The one with scrapyard or scrapton or whatever and the minigun in the locked fridge... Fucking awesome. Man, that demo ran like shit no matter what the fuck hardware you had too.
I remember specifically finding out that the 10mm smg you had in your inventory (though the pistola was equipped) had burst fire and giggling out loud with glee. Fucking great stuff.

Fallout 1 demo had more substance than Fallout 3 will ever have, no matter what. And 'cool looking mushroom clouds lol' won't help shit.

Every remaining Fallout fan will lose their virginity when Fallout 3 hits the shelves.

I must've been something like 12 or so... Didn't understand shit from the dialogue and the whole setup was too complex to begin with. I threw the disc away and returned to the thing about a year later and the rest is history

Since the demo came out. Miniguns being used during the gangwar in junktown IIRC.

it wasn't Junktown but yes, the demo hooked me from the word go. as soon as a firefight commenced all the villagers/non-combatants fled with funny little lines floating over their heads, the one that sticks out in memory: "FEETS DON'T FAIL ME NOW"
His feets, they failed him.
