All the GOOD things confirmed in FO3

Since Bethesda decided to make Fallout 3, we figured we might as well have a forum about it.

All the GOOD things confirmed in FO3

Post by Splatterpope »

This is a topic where we collect, list, and discuss all of the good things that are confirmed in FO3.

If I were a moderator or something I'd make sure it were discussion only concerning such, but as it's DAC, I know this will probably just end up a mess.

Go.

There is a distinct lack of chainmail thongs.

Speech options include more then "Rumors."

Well I dunno, I mean, including special is GOOD, but it doesn't seem used right. For Instance, Intelligence has no effect on conversation options. That's BAD.

Well, as long as they don't mess around with it too much, it should be reasonably easy to mod those problems right...

Oh. Good or bad, it'll more than likely include a reasonably fully featured editor.

Yay for getting the customer to fix your mistakes.

No Herve Caen or Chuck Cuevas....though Todd, Emil, Pete, MSFD, and Gavin might be able to stand beside those two as great franchise rapists in quarter four 08.

no monty python or star trek references (they made a point of not going overboard with nods to nerd stuff)
40s music on radio (implausible but good)
shaders on pipboy

at least it isn't strictly first person and they actually bothered to put some work into an alternative view.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

All In The Family

All In The Family

Short answer.

You can pick your father's nose.

/////////////////////////////////////

All In The Family

Long answer.

In FO3 you can be your own grandpa! Pick your parents, a teen fantasy fulfilled!

For those with the time and the patience to try my refried riffs, ...

We all aspire to be legends in our own minds,
and a good way to learn the dance steps is to emulate history,
AND history repeats itself,
so for those that missed it .... @

BE All You Can BE

With all the 'peat and repeat of the FO3 post E3 infotainment,
not certain, if any one else has mimed the true paternal nurturing potential of the once and future FO3.

Witness the bullet points at evilavatar,

http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showth ... ge=1&pp=20

bapenguin:
Quote:
... 10. You start the game in a "vault" as a child. Choosing your character's appearance affects what your father's character looks like. ...

With traditional family values, the son through the vagaries of sperm count and love mate's ovary cycles and the mythic genetic coding of dual spiraling DNA helix ...
that Biblical knowing ... the son influences the son's son's looks.

Behold the power of Fool's Logic:

""You can pick your nose, and you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friend's nose"".

Behold the power of FO3 in bullet point 10,

"You can pick your nose, and you can't pick your father [Liam N. is a given], but you can pick your Father's NOSE!"

Behold FO3 - BE All You Can BE - be your own Grandpa!

"I'm My Own Grandpaw" was a novelty song from the late 1940's which COULD be on the in game radio play list,
but why wait,
this fateful coincidence deserves to be perpetuated as an ear worm in every aural headspace of every player character crafter,
and grandpa to come in Beth's FO3!

I'm My Own Grandpaw

includes:

Chorus
I'm my own grandpaw
I'm my own grandpaw
It sounds funny I know
but it really is so
Oh, I'm my own grandpaw.

There's more!

@ http://users.cis.net/sammy/grandpa.htm has synth mp3 for you karaoke types

And there's more!

And wait, there's more!

Happy ear worms to you all, until we meet again!

Chorus
I'm my own grandpaw
I'm my own grandpaw
It sounds funny I know
but it really is so
Oh, I'm my own grandpaw.

Self-deprecating humor w/ a vault suit that reads "lol" on the back?

Chuck Norris as an NPC somewhere in the game? (if my sources are correct - he's a little sunburnt, but otherwise, it's Chuck)

Guns
An atomic bomb under a city

...
...
...

Um...

That's all I can think of.

Wrong. The limey shit talking robot is as good as a monty reference.

40's music on the raido is fucking bullshit, it's been 200 motherfucking years. Not to mention they already fucking said there would be "orchestral" elements to the soundtrack. How the fucking hell could they have missed the mark that far?

Edit: By the way, did anyone else notice that this stupid shit
If I were a moderator or something I'd make sure it were discussion only concerning such, but as it's DAC, I know this will probably just end up a mess
is completely unacceptable?

This guy needs a quick lesson in shutting the fuck up and getting back to work at bethesda, producing shit console games.

i pointed out that it was implausible, you fucking swell guy (meant derisively). but 40s music will, imo, add a nice surreal something to the game - no matter how farfetched. the background music will probably be uptempo and shitty, yes. very few games have good dark ambient scores.

i remember there being a newspost about who the sound fx guy was, but has the soundtrack composer been confirmed?

See, I'm bad at wii tennis, but that was pretty much the face I made when I heard someone say that constantly playing 200 year old music 100 years after a (global?) apocalypse over the only two motherfucking radio stations on the eastern seaboard was a really good idea.

How can you possibly not see how the only part of fallout 1 and 2 those vulture assholes at bethesda played was the intro movies streamed offa youtube which resulted in the idea you like?

If it accidentally pleases someone who's missing the point, I'm fine with that. That's what the goddamn xbawks rehash nation is all about. However, I'm not okay with that blatant knobbery bleeding over into a serious conversation about a terrible gaming mishap.
