Alternate Endings...

Like Tactics? Found a cool mod for another game that reminds you of Fallout? Playing those crappy spin-off console games called "Fallout"? Discuss here.

Alternate Endings...

Post by Fusion Cola »

Does anyone know how many endings there are to the game, and if so, what are they?? I managed to get two of them, but a walkthrough I read mentions four...

I only know of 3

1st: Barneky joins with the Calculator, becomes a dictator, imprisons minorities

2nd: You join with Calculator and everything is good (in my opinion)

3rd: You don't join or kill the Calculator, everything is ok.

And how do i get the 4th? Cuz i'm about to beat the game yet again, and i wanna know how to get it.

Ok, this has been an often asked question. There are 4 endings here they are:

1) Barnaky merges with Calculator

2) You destroy calculator/run out of time

3) You merge with calculator with evil karma

4) You merge with calculator with good karma

whats the ending when you merge with Evil karma? Cuz i've always been a goodie to shoe, and done everything by the book and keep all civies out of the LOF.

Basically, the calculator knows that they will encounter the old brotherhood and makes a huge army to combat them.

I never got barnaky or the good ending 'cause I can't get Barnaky to do a damn thing and killing the brains takes down my karma. Any ideas to help?

I've heard that explosives and splash damage from grenades(do not target directly, just use a force throw) will not lower your karma when killing the brains.

IDK, my reputation was high enough it didn't matter when i shot up those brains. Maybe drugging them to death could work.

Yeah, I used drugs on the brains next to the Calculator. Just two would do it. Killing the remaining brains shouldn't kill your karma too much. Rather stupid how they did it, they should have made them hostile so you wouldn't be a bad guy just doing what was required to stop the robots from wiping out humanity. I managed to get the bad ending even though I had spotless karma by killing all the brains and then murdering Barnaky while he was neutral. You can also gun down that pansy Dagger Squad at the entrance if you plan ahead for the bad ending.

is the bad ending when the BOS leaders get lost in the desert, and the calculator runs scenarios on the possible war?

Yeah, basically the Calculator, which is now you, got the BOS leadership out of the way so there would be no remaining opposition to challenge its rule.

It talks about giving up your body as being a noble sacrifice for the benefit of humanity. Bolstered by the robot army of the Calculator, the Brotherhood no longer faces any outside threats and freely shares its technology with the people of the wastes as well as welcomes ghouls and mutants to the party as equals. Pretty much warm and fuzzy. Basically the same end results but you're not quite as Machiavellian.

You can't drug the brains in the three rooms as they are on lower ground levels wiht no way to them. Splash damage still takes your karma down but not as much. I have to try and OD the first brains next time then and hope for the best.

btw; WWTS, what was your karmatic title (the good one)?

My last time through I was Guardian of the Wastes before meeting the Calculator. After killing the brains, I was knocked back to Warrior but was on the positive end. I remember my first time through, I shot all the brains, even the ones next to the Calculator, and still got the good ending. I wanted to see the bad ending, too, so I reloaded and killed Barnaky after he was on my side, which pushed me over.

Wow, how did you manage to get that high? I could only make Shield of Hope and never higher...

I think that your Charisma(especially if it is a high Charisma) might help you get a better karma title. Someone with more info about the game scripting might know about it, like OTB.... :)

Yeah, maybe he'll see this or I'll have to PM him about it... Thanks for telling me Slider. Much appreciated :)

Yeah, I did have something like 8 or 10 charisma with that guy, maybe that's it. My first character had at least 6, too, since I remember giving him Leader.

Ya charisma is extremely useful if you ask me. Lets you get better ppl sooner. Like I had Slim and Clarise (mmmm Clarise) before i hit the last bunker with a CH of 8 and Brown Noser.

Has anybody gotten all of the endings in one sitting. Well I mean saving before you kill the brains and whatnot and complete the game in every which way? I think I have anyways or maybe I couldn't get the good/evil maybe only one. Somebody care to enlighten me on this?
Is it they fear the pain of death or do they fear the joy of life?
Life is only an outer layer, for reality is only realized by the insane.
