I just finished the game again, my first time with Windows XP, and the endings were all cut short! Is this an XP thing? Anyone else suffering from this problem?

it happened to me once with XP also, but i had just saved after killing Horrigan, so i reloaded and ran out, and it worked fine.

You can turn subtitles on in Preferences and read the endings if all else fails.

*sound of forehead sbeing slapped*
I kept attributing this problem to video cards... but it's probably sound card related, duh...

Maybe the newer sound cards can't handle it? I haven't tested it on my Sound Blaster Live! 5.1, but it worked all fine on SB16 and SB128PCI...

I have a sound card i've never heard about (ocean something) and the endings did just fine to me...

It's not an XP thing. I've finished both Fallouts a couple of times with XP and this never happened to me.

Same thing just happened to me... on ALL my save games... possibly because I deleted FO2 and then loaded my v1.2 saves on an unpatched version?
Another weird thing: Ever since it started doing this, the ingame music will stutter/screw up... anyone have any ideas?

Well, I patched before I started that game, so that wasn't it. I also have an SB512 PCI, so that's probably not it, either. It could be the GeForce2, but this was the last straw for XP. I put Win98SE back on two nights ago and no problems since.

Hmm, I hear Win XP has some probs with other components. Could be your Geforce 2. I had troubles getting GTA3 to work because of the XP + GF3 combo. I suggest you update your XP.

Or, much rather like update your drivers...

Not even a question for me, I DL and test everything I can that applies to my hardware.

I had the GTA3 problem too, I've updated that crappy OS... When it was still on my PC, I went to Windows Update almost every other day. GTA3 also hooked me up with some spectial GeForce 2 patches, but I think Windows Update replaced them more recently.
Like I said, I'm back to Win98SE, trying to figure out what to do with all the memory I can't use!

Windows XP is notorious for screwing up a few (or many) games. I haven't had a problem with any Fallout games, but there are many games that seem not to work in XP, on my computer anyway.
