Fallout-inspired gameplay trailer
<strong>[ Game -> Images ]</strong>
<p>A story of two guys, a computer, and Fallout things:
</p><blockquote><p><em>
Dear Duck And Cover,
We are two guys who are making a Fallout-inspired game in our spare time.
We have uploaded the 9-minute intro+gameplay trailer to this location last night:
<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=LMAYQMuKUF0" target="_blank">http://youtube.com/watch?v=LMAYQMuKUF0</a>
Currently the project uses assets from Fallout: Tactics. Should that
not change before release, it will come with an installer upon release
that will require you to specify a location for FO:T data files.
In essense, that makes it akin to a really complex FO:T mod, implemented through a separate executable.
Thank you,
Aleksey.</em>
</p></blockquote><p><strong>UPDATE:</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote><p><em>
Hi guys,
Sorry we didn't supply the URL with the submission. It was in the video
info but not visible unless you click "More". Now corrected.
The game is called Shelter.
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.secondvarietygames.com/">htt ... es.com/</a>
We just have an FAQ at the moment, which we will keep updating as things go.
This project is written from scratch in Visual C and Direct3D 8, and uses Fallout Tactics assets.
Thank you,
Aleksey.</em>

Interesting.
Watching it kinda reminded me of why tactics sucks... But then again, these guys seem to have realized that and done their best to hook it up proper.

I dig it, but there isn't enough different about this to make it more than a really hopped-up mod. There's lots of noticeable differences, but they're mostly superficial, not fundamental. I recommend replacing a lot of the sprites and textures with original artwork rather than reusing those from Fallout... then we'll talk.

Who gives a fuck? The dialogues looked interesting enough, so I'd even play it even if it didn't have "OMG TAKE ALL BUTTON!!1!".TelemachusSneezed wrote:I dig it, but there isn't enough different about this to make it more than a really hopped-up mod. I think you guys overestimate how close to release this game is. We haven't even started FO1 inventory was clunky and we don't even know if we'll keep that screen. We'll certainly enhance its functionality, because navigating large amount of items has been a problem in FO.
Also the "this could as well be a mod" question is the first one in the FAQ.
