Need some advice

Alright, well I am starting to get an idea for a campaign down but I want to hear what you guys think. The main plot I want to keep secret, but one thing I want to know is whether or not I should use flashbacks, or start from when my character was young. He is going to be the ultimate gurilla warfare soldier, but with one catch...He is hunting someone just as good. Reason's and more indepth information will of course be put in later. But I really need to know whether I should start when my character is 30ish and have flashbacks whenever something stimulates them, or should I just start with the recruiting/training process. If I go with the Recruiting I can teach the player essential things that will be needed in the game ie Urban assault tactics, Sniper location, and how to quickly escape situations. Like in one mission things turn quickly and the player has numberous options on how to escape, some working and others not- changing clothes, killing a key guard, shuting off the power, etc. So I am kinda leaning towards this method, but I am openminded and would like to hear what all you guys have done and how you liked each one.

I also need to find out how to import tiles/entities for FO1 & 2 if that is possible, and how to create my own as well. Something like a telephone for a hotelroom or a transformer to shut off power would and should be easy enough to make with the right software. If anyone can help me with this I greatly appreciate it.

MV used flashbacks in his Jailbreak mission, but I don't know - I would think they are kind of limited. You may want to mix them with a story to give a better perspective on things that happened in the past. Placing them in the middle of a mission may be disconcerting but may work once.

Fallout tiles cannot be imported but I believe you can do a pretty good job of making something similar. The best concept I had for tiles is to maybe get "flat front on" views of two sides of a building and then skew it in photoshop to the correct perspective. Then chop it up into smaller tiles to use in Redviewer. It shouldn't be too hard to piece them together in the game. The hardest part would be scaling everything properly. I am not sure if anyone has tried it but it should work conceptually.

Uh... I did?

Anyway, Talls, in order to make new tiles, you need Red's viewer (named Red!Viewer :D). There's a bunch of links to the program in this forum.

i think flash backs are a really good way to tell a story because they leave a lot to imagination.... but i also think that it would be easier to play from the start if you think the player would be better off getting your 'training' then id go with this.... have he flashback go to training (like he thinks back to it and figures out what he needs to do) so yo could train them like that and then include the orther FBs you wanted to
