It's actually better. It has decent characters, quests that actually matter where you can decide what to do (bit like Fallout hoho). Also, it doesnt require endless dumb clicking to raise skills like in Silent Storm and no Panzerkleins.S4ur0n27 wrote:eh, i've heard it's not as good as silent storm?

It's a bit difficult, though, because one has to actually think a bit and act accordingly or world war 3 will happen.
sounds good, but there are no torrents with it?Thor Kaufman wrote:It's actually better. It has decent characters, quests that actually matter where you can decide what to do (bit like Fallout hoho). Your picture fits your attitude.Strider wrote:I wish I could enjoy new games. I only play games for nostalgic purposes these days.
I purchased Orcs & Elves for the DS, it's pretty fun with some turnbased gameplay for once.
It's fairly short though, so I'd recommend downloading it or getting it pre-paid. The length alone, makes it not worth it's price.
UT3 is also on my shelf, it's pretty much your standard Unreal Tournament, except it actually follows a story-line (and fails horribly, so far.)
They try to disguise the play by explaining away "respawners" as being powered up by whatever the objective is.. FlAGs are some kind of generators, but look exactly like... flags. There are some harr harr ingame jokes about it, but it pulls it off poorly.
Stereotypes kinda ruin the story part of it.
Vehicles are okay, but not that fun. On a lot of the maps you can't circumvent meeting vehicles, so you'll probably die to one unless you're in one yourself. And if it's not the biggest or most powerful one, you're also not making it to the point, or other base before getting blown to bits...
BUT, there are hoverboards, so you can at least snag on to the other vehicles and be able to sneak off while they duke it out.
The weapons are all pretty much the same. I would've liked to see at least one new weapon, but no luck.
New things like EMP mines, and static fields are pretty fun, especially the fields. What utterly sucks, and I mean *really* sucks, about it, is that you carry one of them around in your hands, until you place it on the ground.
(Fields slow down whatever hits t hem, or whoever walks in.
Bots suck for doing objectives, no matter what role you pick (or get forced upon you), the others will either botch them up or try to take over yours.
Seeing as I'd like to complete campaign mode and I just play for casual fun, it's very frustrating to depend on moronic bots.
For this to work, I have to crank the game down to easy before being able to finish domination(warfare) maps, and do all the work myself.
Warfare has a new gimmick to it. You can use spheres to instantly capture opposing or clear nodes. And they're at max health as well.
Graphics run smooth, and you can turn them down so much that it'll run on a fairly crappy machine. Of course, the only difference from this would be the amount of players that have switched over from previous versions.
Nothing more to report really, I haven't played that much.
In the end, not worth paying for, but the added game-editor might be worth it.
(which includes creating your own game, your own models, textures etc)
Still playing WoW, the next patch will include some interesting changes if you're level 70 and have a shitload of badges. Basicly a lot of fun for casuals.
can't think of anything else right now. Replay Kotor?

UT3 is a failure on so many levels it's pointless listing them all. You name it Epic screwed it up big time.
I was in the middle of Fallout 2 with the big unofficial expansion pack. Lots of awesome shit, but the game still gets boring as fuck.
Presently, when I have time I'll play a few rounds of Audiosurf and Svencoop. Audiosurf is so addictive and being number one out of a thousand people in a dozen songs is goddamn satisfying.

Doesn't hurt as bad when it's only 8 bucks.

I've started playing Dawn of War again. "Got" the Dark Crusade expansion and its ok. Single Player plays like a game of Risk. You play as 1 of the 7 races but each match is just like a skirmish. You start with a command center and tech all the way up and kill the enemy.

The hammer and sickle demo was pretty cool but I never got it because I didn't get very far into Silent Storm for whatever reason. It's on my long list of games to play.
As of now i've been playing zelda on the DS and it's fun except for having to go through the same dungeon 3 times, I've never seen a zelda game do that and its pretty retarded. After I finish that I was thinking about playing NWN2/MOTB because of the rave reviews the x pack got. You guys also mentioned games I wanted to try like the Sam and Max episodes. Theres lots of games to play you just have to look in your heart to find them.

The last two games i played were Advance Wars 2, and Def Jam Icon. Both were fun for a few days.
