New Fallout 3 Trailer

 Spotted over at <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/" target="_blank">GameTrailers</a>, this is probably the same trailer that was mentioned by KoC a few days back. It went up about an hour ago, so check it out <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36040.html" target="_blank">here</a>. It doesn't show any gameplay, and is fairly short and is probably meant to strike a similarity to Fallout 1's introduction. Spotted @ <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com">GameTrailers</a>

I'm not impressed... wasteland looks great but the whole thing seems a bit unpolished..

The TV shows a cheap picture slideshow that reveals nothing of the Fallout world other than displaying the fact that the creators of the Super Duper Market really suck at naming shit.

Why not just call it Cunningham Market or use some other ultra-american last name. The Super Duper just beats the "50's Americana" dead horse.

That may be seen as nitpicking but it hints at how bethesda approaches one of Fallout's major themes. Also it completely rips off the opening sequence from the original fallout. That shows that they couldn't come up with anything better on their own, so they took a great intro (maybe the best I've ever seen) and dumbed it down and made it worse. Isn't that just exactly what they are doing to the Fallout universe itself?

I honestly believe that if you take this trailer and pair it up with the opening sequence from the original ( and this comparison is obviously invited as they had the nerve to copy the sequence almost exactly) you get a pretty good idea of how FO3 relates to the other two. Tons of imitation, and not much invention of their own.

And I'm still pissed about the new vault dweller outfit.

I was hoping for some game play but I guess that will be shown at E3. Basically its the FO1 intro which I'm guessing is supposed to give hope to the hardcore fans? I don't really have much to complain about right now besides that I was a bit disappointed. I'm sure we can do some serious bitching next week and show the gaming press that we really are as hardcore as the legends say.
