Blizzard Makes StarCraft 2 A Trilogy

I wonder how will the multiplayer work?

Maybe like Dawn of War, except it's only Terrans vs. Terrans till the Zerg expansion comes out.

You get full multiplayer with all three packages. They claimed their campaigns got so big they had but three choises - Cut the shit down to fit, dump it entirely or make it in three parts. These can be thought of as expansions instead but all in all, cutting it into three pieces will make the first part with the multiplayer come out first.

Blizzard seemes to me to be one of the last gamemakers who take time fixing their game and not just launching an unfinished, unedited buggy crap version which they over time update just to receive money.

Well since i am not going to BUY this one anyway i dont really mind.

I am still very pissed off with this whole trilogy thing, it gets on my fucking nerves, like the fact that i have had to buy crysis 2x.

Will they be releasing them all at the same time?

I am willing to bet that the could have made it all one package. But since blizzard is not rich enough yet they have decided to make even MORE money.

I bet all they did was make the cinematics HUGE and uncompressed and then fill the disk up with multiplayer maps.

That' bullshit right there. Too big for what purpose? There's no "too big" in the world of gaming.

Too big for their own budgets?

I think they said it's so big it'll take like 3 years to balance and stuff, so while we're wacking off on the Terran campaign, they'll be balancing the Zerg one.

Still, I very much doubt I'll pay 180 bucks for a single game.

What about choice #4: triple release, triple revenue ?

Why not include multiple dvd's in the case, you Swedish feminazi?

I honestly thought this was about the Pay-Per-View Blizzcon thing that's happening/happened.

If the first copy has all three races in multiplayer, it isn't really a cashgrab.

Why would it be, when all the koreans only buy it for the multiplayer anyway?

It's the balance of the game that drew them a the theme, but surely not the storyline.

Blizzard has come too far to try and milk things, when their aim is quality, or at least what they think is quality.

And last of all, no one knows what the price per chapter will be. Even if it's high(like 60$ of probably more $ due to your worthless currency), there'll be lots of cinematics.

To my knowledge, it has all 3 races for multiplayer, but the other two won't be complete since the....expansions(?) add gameplay mechanics into the mix. So if you want the complete experience in multiplayer, you have to own all 3 from what I was told.

Sounds weird that you shouldn't be able to patch the first ones =/

It feels a bit awkward. Imagine a 4vs4 hunter game with only Terrans... tanks and BCs all over the place D;

It's just stupid. Games don't "get out of hand" big, in need of being split up into segments; usually they're too short, no matter how much work has been put into making them. If you need to make a trilogy to balance 3 races in an rts, you're... no sorry, you don't need to make a trilogy to balance 3 races in an rts whatever you are and whatever happened during development.

And especially not when it's a sequel to a game that already has certain established guidelines to how things will pan out. Development teams have a guy on staff who looks out for this kind of shit, he's called the lead developer; these "issues" are dealt with during the early idea stages, like punching people in the throat when they get ideas that would take eons to implent.

The fact that Blizz is presenting it as a last minute glitch in the development, like "Oops apparently we made the game too big and the races are completely unbalanced!" just goes to show that their intentions are dishonest. Only retarded MR Snake clones can possibly get fooled by these moneygrubbing theatrics.
