Would you like it if Fallout 3 turned out to be a nice game?

Perhaps only when modded heavily, or simply in it's own right, a game that has some things alike Fallout, but in an alternative universe or such? It will probably be the closest thing to a sequel to our favourite game, like, perhaps ever.

I mean, I really like Fallout 1&2 (and Tactics as well), and I mostly want a really nice RPG-ish sandbox game with guns, instead of those silly fantasy games. Preferrably in a setting as close to my favorite one: the post-apocalyptic Fallout one.

I rather liked Morrowind, but I didn't much care for Oblivion until I modded the heck out of it. Which might be the best thing about a Fallout 3 from Bethesda: if you don't like something, make or download a mod to change it!

And in that respect, Oblivion with guns, VATS, SPECIAL and all the other things we would require, together with a great construction set sounds very nice to me!

I'm rather anticipating it. :joy:

Bethesda isn't releasing any modding tools in the foreseeable future, so all the modding will probably be done by russian hackers and such. The reason for this is that Bethesda wants to milk the community with downloadable content and add-ons as much as possible. I'm afraid you'll have to stick with the vanilla version of Fallout 3 for quite some time.

I don't like the idea that I have to wait for a modding community to make a product playable.

Actually Fallout 3 Survival Edition includes a mod kit. I heard it from this person.

pretty much.

When people tell me a game is great with mods, I think that speaks volumes on how unfinished the game is if it needs to be modified by people to patch up the holes.

I agree that it would suck if there was no construction set at launch.

I rate stalker quite high as well. Although I did mod it myself to make it more enjoyable. But I do that with every game, after going through it once unmodded.

Only game I think I ever really modded was Baldurs Gate 2 and thats cause I wanted to see what sorts of NPCs other people made.

GTA was fun to mod. Put tons of shit into that... couple other games as well, but none as deep as that
