Jason Anderson Joins InXile

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

<strong>[ Person -> Update ]</strong>

<p>Jason Anderson who has been working on Fallout Online at Interplay has quit and joined Brian Fargo at InXile on a supposed RPG. Perhaps this is Wasteland 2?</p><blockquote><p><em> Jason Anderson, one of the lead designers on the original Fallout, is developing a new RPG for developer inXile, according to a <a target="_blank" href="http://gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index ... masutra</a> report.
</em></p><p><em>
Anderson had previously been working at Interplay on Project V13, rumored to be the company's Fallout-themed MMO.
</em></p><p><em>
"It was a very hard decision to leave Project V13," said Anderson to
Gamasutra. "I loved the project, and we spent so much time on it, and
it was not an easy decision to make. But in talking with Brian, it made
it a lot easier. We really clicked, and saw eye to eye on what we
wanted to see happen to RPGs."
</em></p><p><em>The unannounced RPG project is in the early stages, according
to Anderson, who is serving as creative director of the development
team. </em></p><p><em>
"I want to get back to RPGs that are very story-driven and
character-driven," added Anderson. "Personally, I've never gotten out
of [single-player] RPGs. There was the short stint working on the MMO
for the past year, but that was pretty much it. I've always been about
RPGs and RPG design. Even before Interplay I was a big RPG player."
</em></p><p><em>inXile was created by Interplay founder Brian Fargo in 2002.
The company debuted with The Bard's Tale (PC, PS2, Xbox) in 2004, and
is planning to release Heist (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) this summer. </em></p></blockquote><p> This is the next great white hope that will give us life but end up sucking at the end I bet, maybe.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Thanks, Ausir. </strong>

I asked Chris Taylor and he says that V13 is not canceled and he is still working on it. Jason left for his own reasons.

By the way, I have set up a Wasteland wiki, with a Wasteland 2 FAQ:

I wish I had a nickel for every Fallout related project started.

There's no reason to get hopeful. Even if the game is in beta stage, there's a 50/50 chance it'll be released.

Cool. I've long thought about replaying the game but always forgot about it. Maybe I'll finally do it this summer.

I've tried playing Wasteland a few times, but everytime I loaded it up, I've just epically failed at it and gone and done something else.
