FO3 Usermods (many compatible with New Vegas)

I'm still kind of humored at the fact that usermade things are ending up as far superior to the official releases. Beth is just putting shit out for money and not bothering to support it or flesh it out further, but users intent on making something to be proud of and enhance gameplay are truly delivering. Granted, some are fucking retarded, like being able to ride ant queens, become friends with all factions, and turn all characters into ghouls (and also turn Dogmeat into a puppy. WTF).

And as the New Vegas modding community grows, keep in mind that many of these older mods will still be compatible with the engine as only its complexities have changed. Guns and armor will definitely transfer over, though some things like Follower mods and gameplay mechanics will definitely require another look and possibly some experimentation to identify whether or not they'll work in NV.

Keep in mind that virtually all of these require multiple, if not all the DLC expansion packs in order to function. Any other requirements for a mod will be listed on its page.

Everything there would change gameplay considerably. The realistic power armor stats, for certain, would make things radically different.

Can you imagine... actually doing the Take it Back quest and not being able to just stand behind the robot as it does all the work? 20+ enclave soldiers, all in power armor would definitely make you work for the win.

Like I said, I'm only windowshopping considering I'm not going to be able to get it and mod it anytime soon, but I do have an acquired skill in finding excellent work. It's due largely in part of fellow gamers, annoyed just as we are with FO3's initial presentation, and who work passionately and creatively to enhance gameplay-- not to be paid, but to have replay value.

That's the beauty of usermods.
