In lands of radiation burn, a traveller came forth;
an ancient man, a ragged soul, showing scars of old.
And he spoke, in gnarled voice, of things which once had been:

"Eastwards bound, by waterfront, where the ancient city lay, of wonders made by human hand.
There once was seen: A gargantuan machine.
Fierce, metallic clad! Crowned by copper and by misery.
Twas feared in lands both far and near, this Goliath like leviathan.
In female form, with taste for blood, a safeguard of the sea.

Naught but ruins now remain.
A shattered arm, dispersed crown, a fitting end it seems."

With hissing breath, the ancient left, a boy remained
weaving dreams of war.
Of ancient lands, of wonders made by human hand.
