You know how there are always like games you have to play or your a swell guy. Games like Fallout or something like System Shock 2.

What games since like 98 are must plays even to this day? Top tier games only gosh. I feel like I've accomplished a lot of them but there might be a few more that I didn't think about.

care to expand on it?

Also, let me think.. post 98, must play, well known..
well 98 was a very prolific year: HLife, Grim Fandango, Thief, Unreal, NFS3, etc etc, and ofkoz Fallout 2.
then 99 kept it high: Alpha Centauri, SShock2, P:Torment, Unreal T., Aliens Vs Predator, AoEmpires2, Everquest, Heroes oMM3, Homeworld, Jagged A.2, D.Keeper 2, Outcast, etc etc.
2000 - still trying: BGate2, DeusEx, Sims, Shogun (the beginning of the Total War madness), Hitman, CStrike and Diablo2 (I don't like the last 2 but they were important in gaming world)
2001 - not so many evergreens: Civ3, Black and White, Max Payne, Wizardry 8, AvP2, and my fav: Undying; also Arcanum for RPG nerds :drunk:
2002 - year of shooters: MoHonor, Battlefield1942, UT2003; other big games that year included GTA3, Warcraft3, Morrowind, Medieval:TW and everyone's fav RPG - NeverwinterNights
2003 - KotOR, Call of Duty and Splinter Cell; Sands of Time re-started the Prince of Persia series.
2004 - the biggest online swell guy - WoW and shooters: HL2, Doom3, FarCry; also many a famous series got a new installment that year. RPG nerds got Bloodlines, tactical nerds got Silent Storm, Tolkien nerds got Battle for ME and there was also that little gem: Evil Genius
2005: FEAR, Civ4, BF2 and plenty other sequels. Interesintg game: Indigo Prophecy.
2006: Company of Heroes and Oblivion; also Sam and Max returned to our PCs!
2007: Bioshock, CoD4, Portal, STALKER, Witcher, and Supreme Commander
2008: Fo3, L4D, GTA4, Mass Effect, Spore
2009 so far: Sims 3 and Mirror's Edge.

there.

No, not particularly. It speaks to those who know it. Either research will be indulged, and perhaps through play, knowing. Or it won't.

Or perhaps this is all past tense and

Immaterial.

Unnecessary. :drunk:

Play Close Combat(I -> IV) and every RTS after that will feel like shit.

The same goes for Ultima VII and RPGs, with a few exceptions.

Also.

Giants : Citizen Kabuto, to this day, possesses criminal quantities of both Woo and Yay. There even exists a 'Graphical Revision Mod' for those with fragile aesthetical sensibilities. Fantastic multiplayer, in my experience.

Disciples 2 ? Bah, just play HOMM. :drunk:

isn't C Kabuto like a silly game where you bunnyhop/jethop around some disneyland shooting colourful things with cartoony guns?
