Zombieland

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

It's a comedy zombie movie like Shaun of the Dead starring Woody Harrelson and some other kids. It was a pretty good movie with some laughs and pretty good kill scenes of zombies. Basically the whole world is overrun by zombies and the survivors just kind of do shit like go to Bill Murry's house and watch ghost busters. I recommend this movie but expect a lot of swell guy kids in the theater but our might have been a special case. There was a really fat teenager and then his skinny friend who were like by themselves when there was a big group of teenagers some rows down. After thinking about it, I'm pretty sure the loser kids were trying to seem cool to the cooler kids but were really just acting like Smiley. They were saying stuff like "fail" and "he shot his head off" after a guy would shoot a guys head off, I hope this helps you decide whether to see the movie or not.

It's a sad state of events that the only good zombie movies that come out now are comedies.

While I also had annoying folks in my audience, I thought this was the best movie I saw this year. It was funny and more intelligent than I expected and edges out Inglorius Basterds (although barely) for my favorite movie this year.

Oh man that's a tough call for me, I'd still say Inglourious Basterds is better just because of Landa and the dialog itself, but Zombieland was a great movie. I saw it today, so the weekend crowd was gone, so it was pretty empty and the only sound the audience made was laughter, so overall it was a good experience. I like the pace of the story, and the narration from Columbia. I'd give a 9/10.

I wish Pooper would review the Capitalism movie. Sheesh

It has an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, if that would be telling you anything.

Boy it's a good thing we judge everything by trailers.

Roger Ebert gave it 3 out of 4. That's saying something.

For the insane cost of one movie ticket, you bet yo ass I judge by trailers. The burden of proof is on the movie to convince me to see it! If the studio makes a misleading trailer, fuck em, I'll go see another movie, or watch one of the many more awesome zombie flicks I ALREADY OWN...

Well, if the trailer presents a movie as something its not, and you go see it, you have been tricked by the makers of the movie. False advertising. That is why I dont judge a movie based on the trailer.

I can review the Moore movie without having seen it:

It's going to be a bunch of his opinions with creatively edited footage to reinforce those opinions. It will be presented as a documentary, and he will sell it as such; when someone brings up the fact it's not a documentary, he will claim he never intended it as such and it's simply entertainment.

In the end he will not answer the question he posed at the beginning of the movie, just like in every other mockumentary he's done.

His newest film involves him walking around knocking on doors at wall street and acting pretty much like a fat swell guy. Asking redundant questions and giving half ass answers to why he hates the American goverment and why they on purpose wrecked the economy.

Yea......6 bucks.....woo. Amazing.

Ever think of doing some research and just listening to what people say instead of being dumb and just watching the trailer and making your decision there? I mean hell, Inglourious Basterds must have been a REAL dissapointment then because the advertising for it was some of the most misleading since Hero.

Nah its like ten bucks.

Firstly I don't care enough about Zombieland to do any sort of research on the topic.
Secondly, did movie trailers kill your parents or something?
Thirdly, I actually saw the Basterd movie despite the trailers being shit, and enjoyed the Jew Hunter immensely. If he had been in the trailers I would have been sold, I think.
Forthly, my original comment was an effort to give my feelings about the trailer and see if anyone would like to respond about whether the movie was indeed xboxy. Nobody needed to respond and I wouldn't have cared less.
Also, dumb? Chill the fuck out. If I had made my decision from the trailer, why did I bother engaging myself in this forum?

Also I don't know if its a psychological issue but I have a very hard time paying any kind of money for something so intangible as the ability to see a movie. It seems odd to me... so I usually only go on dates and then I spend upwards of thirty bucks... :(

I personally just hate walking into a cinema alone. You feel like such a lonely douche fgt and you can tell that the ushers are laughing about it behind your back :chainsaw:

That's why I also pretty much just take dates also, but that restricts my viewing a bit depending on the chick.

2 things:

Their point is valid; judging by trailers is a bad idea, especially when movies like the ones cranked out by the Reno 911 crew use all their best lines of the movie in the trailer, leaving the movie itself kinda hollow. Just torrent it, DML, and watch it for free without having to sacrifice fair judgement.

The second; xbawks crowd? I'm on the 360, Caz is on the 360, Nicolai, Killzig, and Pooper are all on the 360... why is the console itself relevant? Wouldn't you prefer to identify the adrenaline junkie d-bags as, say... the pre-teen Halo 3 crowd?

Just sayin'.
