So when I got my first computer capable of running something other than Windows 95, I started digitizing all my CDs, tapes, and vinyl. I had a couple thousand from when I worked at a record store. (Gave the majority of them away to friends, lost a ton, and have been using a few as ice-scrapers during the winter)

I came across my 23 MP3 backup DVDs this morning in a box in my son's room.

I listened to some real crap, but some of it is bringing back some fond memories. Mind you, all this is pre-2003 music.

But I mean holy-fuck..23 DVDs full of MP3 files...Stuff I actually paid for... Horribly sorted, nothing re-named..I'm going to spend all weekend putting everything in order.

Why am I so thrilled?

EDIT: Why the hell did I buy Mudvayne?

What do you use to record from a tape onto your computer?

I've got an old Canopus ADVC 100 box. Before that, I hooked everything to an old camcorder and ripped through that.

I say "old" but at the time, those were new toys for me.

My dad gave one of my cousins his entire Led Zeppelin discography about six years ago hoping he'd get a bunch of CD's, I think she ended up losing them.

I found their digitally remastered discography on Pirate Bay and I burned them all for him about a month ago.
