Swimming Q
Swimming Q
Anyone here swims? How is a scissor kick different from frog kick?
Scissor kick is legs straight back behind you, one leg going up as the other goes down - it resembles scissors closing when you see it from the side.
Frog kick is when put your legs to the side and pull your knees forward, then kick back with both legs at the same time.

"You're going to have a tough time doing that without your head, palooka."

Re: Swimming Q
quite simple, really: with a frog kick you use your anus to propel you, with a scissors kick you need beans, a puppy and a guiding light.ApTyp wrote:How is a scissor kick different from frog kick?

The freestyle, or whatever it is, was always my preferred swimming method. I learned how to swim as a little kid, and by that I mean I literally kept throwing myself into the pool when I was like 2 and 3 until I finally learned how to stay afloat. I asked my mom a few years back and she said whenever we went to the pool the lifeguards would keep an eye on me, because I'd jump in, sink, and they'd get me and I'd throw up all that pool water, take a little nap, and then try again. Finally I didn't sink, and the rest is history.

My mom always took us kids for swimming lessons, she thought it was very important that we knew how to swim.
Not knowing how to swim in this day and age is pretty bad and you see mexicans drowning right next to the dock at lakes because the families never learned how to swim as they watch their kids drown.
