THOORRR
Thor is a serious movie about a viking warrior from the stars who gets shot back down to earth by Anthony Hopkins to kiss natalie portman and then come back. I think the best way to describe thor is that thor spins his hammer really fast to make a tornado and fly in the air
The whole movie was hokey, more so than any regular super hero movie should be allowed. Every time I saw thor's friends all playing a cliche character and the crowd laughing at their stupid jokes I wanted to punch them in the face but I didn't and logged it away for a DAC review. The movie has a lot of nice flare in the visuals especially when at their home planet and the movie is only really good when he is at his home planet, everything on earth is boring and stupid.
Overall I wasn't expecting much and it just barely met my expectations, I honestly wouldn't really recommend it to anyone without telling them to not expect much.
MOVIE THEATER REVIEW: there was a black guy with his wife who would that attempted black person expression after they thing something smart just happened like "MmmHMMMMmmmm" then explain what just happened in the movie to sound even smarter. Lots of hype for the movie so lots of jokes and shit were very successful in the beginning but then by the end the hype fails and they realize that the movie isn't that good and they best stop laughing or they will look like a swell guy. That happens a lot with movies that are very anticipated.

It's the one coming out this week http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0822847/ .
It will probably be horrible since the preview doesn't look that good.

I'd just watch it cause the villain kinda looks like a Man With No Name rip off and I'd want him to win, but it's not real high on my priority list. Karl Urban makes a good Clint Eastwood cosplayer though.
I'd rather watch True Legend. I hope in some sort of twist of fate, David Carridine's character is choked to death.

On Thor,
I read a shitload of Marvel comics in my life, sometimes there's shit in comics that looks horrendous when a live actor says does that shit. But Thor, dude, I couldn't read that shit when I was a kid, how can I watch a movie about it.
Captain America too, I'm a fucking Patriot and all, but WWII propaganda boy-scout shit.
I'm sorry, I need more subversive, edgier entertainment than this.
I wouldn't've been excitied about Thor or Cpt. America if I was 12 when it came out, now, fuggedaboudit. Kind of like that second trilogy of Star Wars movies, ate that shit up when I was a kid. No interest whatsoever. Transformers. Fuck off. GI Joe, yeah maybe 20 years ago.
You know, sometimes I go back and open some of those old Marvel comics.
They suck. They're almost insulting they're so bad.
I like my kung-fu cheap and 80s b-movie like.
For me, kung-fu movies are kind of like porn, the story and plot and shit are just a vehicle to take you from one action scene to the next. If it can be slightly amusing, great, but it's filler AFAIC.

That looks cool, love me some old-school gung-foo y'all. Never went in for all the floating on wires stuff, nor can I understand why the trend seems like to do these LOTR inspired Chinese fantasy epicsWolfman Walt wrote: I'd rather watch True Legend. Can I do my Marvel Comics rant?
So when I was a kid I read X-men, kind of covering the John Byrne - Chris Claremont era. Which was cool stuff at that time.
And there was the New Mutants - hey it's the X-men but they're school kids with teenage problems, hey this is kind of cool.
Then they did Classic X-men - reprinting from the New Xmen on - hey good stuff, can never find or afford to buy originals anyway!
Then they did X-Factor - 'cause there's too many fucking titles now, we need to re-do a comic with the original team (Cyc, Beast, Iceman, Angel, etc.). OK so we have the X-men, X-men Jr. and the Senior tour. This is acceptable.
Then they did Excalibur - which is the British version of the X-men. Ookay.
Then Wolverine got his solo series. Because Wolverine is totally unpredictable and never just does the same schtick over and over.
Then they did just X-men, (as opposed to Uncanny X-men) since there's so many fucking mutants we need a second team. And we're going to sell multiple copies with collector cards, all bags and different versions. Wait, I don't want any of this shit.
Cross-overs, miniseries, crossover annuals with
I think you get my point, they fucking milk things to death, to the absolute most absurd over-saturation. To the point where one day I stopped giving a shit and I don't think I've bought a Marvel comic in 20 years (at least nothing that wasn't a collection of previous shit e.g. Essential Daredevil or however they branded Miller's run there.)
Every once in a while I'll peak at the X-titles just to confirm it's as bad as ever ... it's worse. And it would be one thing if they were decent, but a lot of it was...laughable.

Yeah, but that was just New Mutants re-branded to revitalize sales I'm sure. Which I noticed the other day they are back doing New MUtants again...
Prices are fackin ridiculous too.
Then you hear how they dick Stan Lee out of royalties for all these multi-million dollar SH movies that he should get some credit for creating the characters. Sleazy business, comics. Especially the big studios.

At this point all I would read are Cerebus, Lone Wolf & Cub and anything from Alan Moore or Frank Miller. But I'm not really in the scene, so I'm sure there are things that I'd like, but jut not aware of. But Marvel is pretty much off the menu for me.

infinite crissis on infonate earths or is that dc or the other one i cant remember gosh. not that thtats a recommendation just that it weaved all the crap together.
the thing about spiderman and xmen and shit is that it will never end and get more convoluted as time goes on, as would anything (LIKE...LIFE :O). its not like oliver twist or the great gatsby have short stories out every month. bizarro gatsby. twist oliver. things that have an end are best even with television like the television show'daybreak' that lasted 1 golden season
arent they doing a 60s xmen film thats like mad men with superheroes? maybe it will have tits in it.
