I've never been a big fan of the pirates movies because they always went over the top and aren't very canon to the disneyland ride. I noted before how in the theaters everyone laughs at the smallest thing Johnny Depp does and it's pretty annoying, things haven't changed.
Anyways it's about them trying to find the fountain of youth and it has Ian Mcshane and Penelope Cruz in it. The only pirate movie I thought was okay was the first one as each one after got even more hokey. This one is still hokey but not as hokey as the last one as that one really went over board.
Action is okay in some spots but plagued by extreme (jumping from palm trees) like the others. Overall if you liked the Pirate movies you will like this one but if you didn't then this won't change your mind.

I've boycotted this one just like many of the actors and actresses that were asked to star have. I can't believe Johny sunk so low and is milking this thing for money. Thought he was an okey guy.
Bah.
Trilogy ended! At least wait 10 years + until you milk it like it was done for the terminator movie. (yeah that one was like 25 years right?)
Can't agree with you on the over the top thing. This is an epic adventure as would be in a game or a fantasy story. It's not supposed to be a real account of any real pirate or even resemble such things.

Johnny Depp is a fucking sell out, he went from Ed White to Rango.

You actually see them in the big red shark in the opening scene of Rango. The irony was palpable

Settle for Yellowbeard?
Monty Python + Cheech & Chong, Peter Cook etc...not as funny as one would've hoped. One of those ensemble 80s comedies, like a Pirate themed Cannonball Run.

I hate to say it, but it's kind of meh 2 stars. Which is weird because it has an incredible cast of comedians.
Youtube a couple scenes before removing from inventory.

Some hippy just pissed on my leg.
Still Smokin was pretty good, but more sketch/standup than an actual movie.
They made some clunkers when they departed from the stoner comedy. Like Yellowbeard, Corsican Bros. Times are Tough all Over.
Yeah, I remember trying to watch Yellowbeard a while back and there was like a 45 minute stretch where I didn't laugh once and just turned it off.
It amuses me that people think shit like Pineapple Express is anywhere near the level of Misters. Marin and Chong.

That sums up Seth Rogan's whole career pretty nicely.
