RPG Codex is DEAD!
<strong>[ Community -> Article ]</strong> - News related to <a href="http://www.duckandcover.cx/archives.php ... y=129">Top Story: RPGcodex is no longer</a>
<p>Our long time sister/brother/mother/father site <a href="http://www.rpgcodex.net/">RPGcodex</a> has shut its door down for good with confirmation made with DarkUnderlord through private message. Here is what is posted on the website now for however long it will be up (probably not long):</p>
<div style="padding: 5px;">
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>Dear RPG Codex users,</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>We have recently had to give serious thought as to whether we could really keep RPGCodex.net going the way it was. We've debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we've decided that the RPG Codex simply could not remain in its popamole state.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>We're very grateful for all support we've received from all of you over the past eight years. We've come a long way since being founded in 2002. Working on RPGCodex.net was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC RPG's.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>In the end, we simply didn't have enough internets to keep going the way we were. We needed over 13,811 moar internets and they weren't coming in fast enough.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;"><em><a href="http://internetometer.com/give/10012"><img src="http://internetometer.com/image/10012.png" border="0" alt="" /></a>
<a href="http://internetometer.com/give/10012">You may give internets in memory of the Codex</a></em> <em>.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>This doesn't mean the idea behind RPGCodex.net is gone forever because truthfully, ideas never die. An idea is something you know and when you don't even know what it is you don't know, you can't really lose the things i don't even what is this; as Cleve would say. So we're closing down these forums and website and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>On a technical note, this week we'll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-visit their old forum posts. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on <a href="http://twitter.com/djcohu">Twitter</a> and <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=1 ... acebook</a> for updates - or sexually harass the people at <a href="http://rpgwatch.com/">RPGWatch</a>.</em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em>All the best,
GOG.com The bros from rpgcodex.net (not .com, that's a different set of bros)</em></p>
<p> </p>
<p>We are accepting the refugees under the condition that they are cool (you know who you are) and don't cause too much of a ruckus in this part of town. For more up to date information about how the RPGcodex community is splintering onto other websites you can visit our IRC channel on gamesurge.net at #fallout.</p>

We will accept refugees under the condition that I be given moderator status and allowed to revoke their access.
However, I do remember when the 'dex was cool. a fallen half-brother.
Tai shar DAC, may you live forever. One by one the heathens will be purged from the world and the truth will rise up from the shadows and be known to all mankind.

We also demand surrender of the RPG Codex military. All soldiers are to lay down their weapons. Officers may keep their sidearms.jetbaby wrote:We will accept refugees under the condition that I be given moderator status and allowed to revoke their access.

Unrelated almost entirely, but while we're on Memory Lane, whatever happened to Miroslav over at NMA? The last thing I remember before abandoning the place was him leaving to be a sniper for Mother Russia or something along those lines. What the fuck do I know though, that was like nine years ago. I, in the last thirty seconds, have spent more time there than I have in the last five plus years because that name suddenly jumped into my head. It says he started it but that's it. Their "about us" section kind of sucks hard.

The Codex is now using a paid license forum thingy...$140 a year or $180 for 2 years. That's a lot of money I don't have. Also, our whole site code was build by DU around last-gen phpBB...so unless DU feels like coming in and doing everything to DAC that he's doing to the Codex, we are stuck like this forever (or until I learn how to do it).
