Contraband

It's a new Mark Walhburg movie about contraband from a container ship and how he has to come back into the game to save is brother in laws life from some bad dudes. It had Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster, and Giovanni Ribisi (dude has the biggest child pedo accent in this movie).

The movie was alright mainly because it was kind of cool to see them do shit on a container ship as I've always been kind of interested in what happens on those things. You basically see them doing all types of heist type shit on the boat, in panama, and in the US. That was the most unique thing about the movie, in that their were like 3 major locations (US hometown, the boat, and panama) in the movie and they all felt like their own place and not ham fisted.

I guess it wasn't a normal heist movie but you never really felt like the dude would be walking away at the end completely fooling everyone and it all going to plan. He comes out on top but he could have been pooped on pretty hard okay.

Movie had good cast member but that Giovanni Ribisi (you know what he looks like when you see him) had a really over done accent that these actors are doing lately when they play gangster. They all talk like little children which is a rare example I think, the actor Mos Def also does the same thing and I find it annoying since it looks like they try too hard to stand out.

It's a decent Mark Walhburg movie but not one of his best.

They should rename every Mark Wahlburg movie "Angry White Guy Takes Vengeance."

Never been a fan of Markie Mark. The only movie I've genuinely liked him in was The Departed.

Same goes for Liam Neeson. Who's got to be the most delusional "I'm a mean ass-kicking bastard" ever. Guy barely classifies as a Murtaugh yet things he's Riggs for some reason. D:

Liam Neeson was born to play a father.

As evidence, I point to Fallout 3.

Unknown was basically Taken 2. which I heard they're also making. Do they take his daughter again?

Liam Neeson's performance in Fallout 3 was phoned in. Also everything about Fallout 3 is terrible, so this is inadmissable.

He is contacted by someone claiming they have someone he may want.

He looks up, sees his daughter talking on the phone.

He scowls, identifies that his daughter is safely in his eyesight.

The voice on the other end rumbles threateningly "What about your son?" and hangs up.

Confusedly goes to call ex-wife, she ends up calling first, admitting to him that she was pregnant during the divorce and hid the son from him and that he's been taken, presumably by people with a grudge against him, since the first movie clearly established that he has no money, only a very specific skill set.

Locks, loads, killing begins.

Roll credits.

Sequel also won't have Luc Besson. If Wikipedia is right in that, what interest is left?

Unknown wasn't like Taken because Unknown sucked a lot of shit, they just kind of marketed it to look like the next Taken. Taken was a unique movie because it's something everyone could enjoy, it's about a father killing bad dudes to protect his daughter. My mom and sister saw it and really liked it heh.

Luc Besson was a producer on Taken which doesn't really mean shit. He has been producer on plenty of shit movies.

Sad tale of the bloke that went through all the trouble of making big films just so he could bed the female leads, only to find models turned actresses don't make for very good housewives. Léon and Element were proper good but probably just by-products of making metric tons of the shit- some of it's got to be decent. :chew:

You guys seem to miss the point, all of his decent movies are because he directed them. He has been involved with plenty of shit movies like writing the screen play of Columbia etc
