As far as I'm concerned, with Tim Cain at Troika, Fallout 3 would be pointless.

Unless Interplay gets a gasp of brilliances and contracts Troika to do Fallout 3.

It'd really be a win-win situation for Interplay, when you think about it. If FO3 gets screwed up, we'll blame Troika. They get their money either way. They can also put their in house developers to cranking out as many BG and IWD games as they want.

But wouldn't contracting Troika to make Fallout 3 harm BIS's IE titles?

There isn't a thing in the world* I want better then Troika making Fallout 3, but it would create competition for their fantasy titles.

Not really. If both games cost 50$, and you only buy one, Interplay still gets the same 50$.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

They're the publishers. They just pay Troika to make the game for them, and Troika's salaries would be taken out of the gross profit.

They should pay Microforte to do Fallout 3.

As long as Gareth gets lead design, I wouldn't mind seeing MF get FO3.

BIS won't be making any more IE games though, so having FO3 compete with IE games is a moot point.

Speaking of BIS games, any word on when the next BIS project (Jefferson, I think) will be announced?

Yeah it was supposed to be announced 'soon', and that's already over a month ago. As for the petition, there should be a link to it on the main page until it gets announced, under the Fallout 3 section.
