Fans of single-player Fallout Tactics maps rejoice! The mystic <a href="http://www.duckandcover.net/forums/view ... =14">forum guru</a> - <b>OnTheBounce</b> - has released a demo! I'll let him explain:<blockquote><em>Only 8+ months behind schedule, here it finally is: the first installment of my demo for <b>In Our Own Image</b>. Featured in it is a Single Player mission that was cut from IOOI for plot reasons, then pasted onto the (heavily modified) Osceola map from the FoT core campaign. This mission has been a long time in coming, since I started it back in late January of this year, but you can finally dl it, and blaze away at slavers who have the nerve to oppose the vaunted NCR Rangers.
This is not just a SP mission, it is an actual mod, featuring - among many things - the weapons you know and love from the FO RPGs, although some have been modified a bit to make for a more balanced weapons catalogue. (Yes, this includes sprites.)
There are a few unfinished odds and ends, but nothing that will interfere w/gameplay. I've been down in the wake of some really heavy dental work and didn't want to delay this any longer, so here it is. </em></blockquote>Yay! I'd like to apologize in advance to those of you who dl this: in my drug and pain-crazed haze I completely forgot to add a "Thanks To/Credits" section to the ReadMe file. I'll correct that oversight in the next installment of the demo. For now I guess it's a case of "you people know who you are". :oops:
If you play this, please take the time to give me some feedback. As my main efforts are in the map building department it is definitely not too late to put your mark on the direction of the campaign where gameplay is concerned. I'm especially interested to know if you have trouble w/the conventions/style I use, the way I set up the minimap and briefing, etc.
