Well... if you were a good enough programmer, and had plenty of time on your hands...yeah, I think.

Who'd want a bunch of old NPCs in their nineties anyway? :)

The NCR, for one.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

The NPCs would be dead, and the items would probably be lost or stolen (unless properly stored).

Yep. For some reason, longer lifespan doesn't instantly spring to mind when talking about a wasteland. Probably a good thing they didn't include The Abyss, or we'd have to put up with an ancient Ian too.

Yeah, it is very unlikely you'd survive that long in the wastelands with stuff like sickness, poverty, lack of health care/medicine and deadly bullets. The average life length would be around 40ish. Except in safe places, like vaults and BOS although they would be less resistant to sickness.

Well, think of it like this. Due to the war, alot of fire and increase of tempeture happened. Changing viruses, due to the proteins screwing up. Of course, the vault dwellers and BOS would be more suspect to these new mutant strains of influenza and other such illness, but they would probibly have something called: Anti-biotics. Maybe they have invented a cure-all by that time. But of course if they had the ability of stick plates and stuff under some willing persons skin to increase tolerance levels, then I'm sure they'd have some alterier method of eliminanting anti-biotic resistant bacteria.

Sorry, just had to rant.

Well, I assume the background radiation has changed the viruses a bit from what they were before. So when the vault doors open and if a bacteria/virus gets in from the outside world people inside aren't immune to the new viruses, no matter what 'cure-all' they've had. Remember, viruses too are developing to be more resistant against vaccinations and medicine. The radiation has probably affected this process, speeding it up or maybe making a shole new type of viruses, not to mention the FEV. Of course, these new viruses can be cured, given the time for some research.

Yeah but viruses immunize themselves to the antibiotics being being exposed to the antibiotics...

Which doesn't rule out your whole "new virus" line of thought, I'm just saying that "the same virus" is not necessarely likely to mutate specifically to resist the vaccination method., since it's not been exposed to it.

Yes first the virus need to interact and ''understand'' the anti-biotic , so it can develop resistances to it , but radiation could be a very usefull explanation to new virus caracteristics ( thanks to their composition ) .
