You can take out each and every tile that doesn't display. For instance the floors in buildings, the walls on the north side of buildings w/rooves, etc.

If this doesn't work, what I do is to chop the map up. Once you've got pictures of all of the sections of your map you open whatever graphics program you use and splice them all together. I recommend reducing them (watch the math!) to the same scale, or else you'll be there all day even working w/only two JPGs that have measurements in the neighborhood of 10,000 pixels...

Damn..... Cutting it up in 4 pieces isnt even enough..... Well it is a pretty big map.

Anybody who usually dont have so much trouble making a mini map willing to try for me? Its pretty much the only thing that I need to call my map finished.... And boy, id like to call it that.

OTB is pretty good at getting maps to render - if he can't, you COULD ask Section8 :D

Oh yes, I'll try rendering it. Well I have a hunch to why it crashed and I wanted to investigate... I guess I could use any other map that crashed, but I'm rather clueless as to what maps do crash in the first place.

If you like I could add contructive criticism on the map itself, but that's an option :D

Id like to enable that option :-).

Altough I think the reason the map crashes is simple overload.... Its very big.

Gona be like max 30 mins and ill mail it.

Looks like it's time to open that baby up as "Tiles Only", chop it up, and make pictures of the smaller pieces...then cobble it all together in Photoshop...um, yeah, it is a major pain in the ass to that, but a mapper's gotta do, what a mapper's gotta do...

46+2: Yeah, I suppose you can have Red send it on to me. Just send it to onthebounce@duckandcover.net and I'll get on it as soon as I can work up the nerve to deal w/a badly stuttering PC. (Don't worry, I'll get right on it.)

I actually saved it after removing the tiles and sprites, then when loading I noticed the "Tile only" option (which I used). I then turned off all useless rendenreing features, re-parsed the occlusion data (that took a damn while...) and finally tried to render it.

So cutting it would probably be the thing to do. I'm guessing hte problem is that when the games creates too huge a map it just takes so much memory while creating the "buffer" to be saved it crashes.

Yeah. Its just a overload of the editor and PC. Anoying, but hey, I sure did make that map big. So I guess I cant complain
