Does anybody know if the NPCs can have any perks/traits or other special abilities?
It looks like they're all pretty much the same.

Not really... Their levelling is preset in the game anyway. They each have one official special skill though.

This is all discussed in the FO Bible, actually. Gives all the stats at different levels for all the party members.

Would be interesting to see other than partymembers stats, for example Horrigan. Or the Master.

Yeah, it would be nice to have smth like the second level of "avarness" perk that would allowe you to look at smbd's stats. I'm quite curious how did Horrigan gain 18 action points.

Frank Horrigan had a special Perk. It's called "He's the freakin' end boss and we'll made him as tough as we damn well want to!"

No, why.. many characters have more AP than they're supposed to have. How would you explain that Marcus had 13 AP and citizens of the Den have more AP than Horrigan? Even if they're completly  :drinking: :black: :scatter:
:rainbow1: they just couldn't be as fast.

Ahah, yeah that's a bit annoying...
Specially when waiting after them damned den junkies taking their doses of Jet and running like 15 hexes away...

Yeah, that's the only bad thing about turn-based combat, really. Civilians and other people not taking part in combat running away slow the game down causing annoying long fights. I remember the church quest in Den, especially. When the fight got outside the church I had to wait for those damn civilians to perform their moves too. Casino fights in New Reno also took a long time. Oh well, it's good there's rarely any long fights. Most people don't have patience for that, they rather play real-time.

There are much more of that kind of extremely long battles. Especially when you like travelling with caravans. It can take a few minutes before they all finish their turns and you can perform yours - usually 1 or 2 shots. However you can control the action much more carefully, it just doesn't usually happen that your PC in aggresive mode (FoT) shots everywhere with rocket launcher, destroying half of the city, your karma and all your allies, just because he spotted some enemy.
I think that FoT real time combat mode was done well anyway. It's not easy to convert as complex turn based game into the RT.
