Code: Select all

- Fixed some tooltips, added error messages
- ZAR Fixed bug which might crash version 3 display because they have no shadow
index and the program would try and display it's value anyway
- Fixed bug which added a null pointer to ZAR clipboard if no layer was selected
while adding from a sprite to it
- ZAR Fixed bug which didn't update the caption when you saved it
- ZAR TIL Fixed bug which wouldn't take the name provided by the caption in when
saving and displaying an empty field instead
- GIF Removed support of it in Quick Open... and internal code, oops
- SPR Fixed bug which actually only exported the first layer of a sprite
- SPR Fixed bug which would crash if no valid layers were selected when
  exporting it to TGA
- ZAR Changed saving procedure so you can't save empty ones
- ZAR TIL Save option on new files now use the name supplied by the application
  as the default
- ZAR When exporting from another ZAR, TIL or SPR, the name of the new
file is changed in relation to the original name of the image
- Icon lost again; I really don't know why it keeps getting dissociated
Now with all these little fixes and features added, you really shouldn't have any trouble while saving your ZARs (since I still didnt' find the bug you reported of it overwriting the SPR, jj86). Hopefully it'll be clearer with the names properly propagated in the various steps you fallow to create the new ZARs...

As in the topic it's mostly non-important bugfixes and cosmetic changes... It's not worth posting news about it (imho).

I should highlight the important part(s) when I post my history so that news people who want to display them can take what's important, like in version .16 the New -> ZAR feature is probably the most important thing...

Red, I guess the bug I reported wasn't a bug! It was just me rushing through too fast and stupidly screwing it up. I didn't read the instructions and hit the export button when I was still in the sprite which messed things up

That's what I though actually :) What was annoying though is that the previous version still saved a partial file and loading it would crash.

With this version I made it so you can't save an empty ZAR so what you did'll no longer happen, so I did fix "your bug" in a way :)

What exactly does the Red!Viewer do anyway?

Does it do spray's job or is it just a viewer (as the name indicates)?

I waz just wondering because you said something about GIF support and since I dont have photoshop, I can't use Spray (well, I can't do the palette thing; ntm I cant save alpha channels either).

Mainly it's a viewer, but you can make edit tiles with it.
You can also make ZARs from tiles and sprites but that's less imporant.

As for GIFs, I've just REMOVED support for it.

We're also eager for the sprite version of viewer. Red if you could check your PM's you'll find some suggestions I made for it. I don't ask for too much I think! :)

Yo Red, so I just got my new HDD workin and I'm tryin to get your lovely program on this new one (my old one is 40 GB of free space now), but when I click on that link in the first post or "right-click Save As...," I get some numbers in the browser. WTF?

Btw, I searched DaC and NMA for your viewer/editor to no avail... wassup?

Oh, and I don't have WinRAR on this WinXP box yet... is that the problem?

Hey Max...
I have back versions of the viewer, just in case you might have a faulty one or something, msg me if you do...
there was a file needed also for the initial version, I got it somewhere, maybe it's needed for the later versions as well...

Oh, the download link is broken since I don't host the server anymore.

The file on DaC's is (supposed to be) up to date.

And those numbers in the browser you see is because red.homeip.net is no longer my site...
