Did it work for you guys?
I tried using the Klint the generous and the Black Highwaymen MOD but nothing happened. The game was just..... "Normal"

Started a New game.
All mods didn't load except for the patch. I think......
I tried to download them again but still the same.

then that means you should contact the authors of the program.
Or get another O/S. 8)

Nah, OS has no relation. works on all of them. Sounds to me like you set something up wrong, but not knowing how they really work myself it's hard to say.

Isn't WinXP user-friendly?
(of course not)
go to
www.oxymoronlist.com
#1 Oxymoron is "Microsoft Works".
Can't say I can argue with that much.

I had the same problem! Used to work fine on Me but when I switched over to XP Fame wouldn't load the mods. As far as I know I did nothing different to the way I had it set up under Me and I tried various things to get it working, but nothing I did would get Fame working under XP!

thats the same problem that i had, all i did to fix it is use a dat explorer then extract all the files into fallout2\data\. the good progs you can get from DAC will put all the files into their proper subfolders. then, fallout will automatically look for the files in that folder to override the files in the master.dat, thus enableing your mod
this is a pretty crappy way to run mods however, and i would also like to know what the problem is with XP.

I've recently found out that FAME does not work with windows XP.
To get a mod working, rename the .dat file to patch000.dat ... thats how I got it working.

Doesn't that override the possible patch? I think I had that trouble...using mods like the friendly tribes man....overrided the patch for the game...

Yes, it does remove the patch... if you got one on there! I personally do not notice the difference when the patch is changed for a mod. Its pretty much the same, but ofcourse you got the mod in there now! :D

Anyone tried to run FAME in compatibility mode in XP for 98? I've tried that for a few programs in the past, but with poor success..Like Gothic...Ran smooth as the green apple squirts on XP...So I put it in 98 mode, and the thing went about 13fps..Blew my mind.
I'm just glad DirectX9 is out..Gothic now runs crisp and clean on my machine in XP mode.

Anyone know how to "upgrade" FAME to work with XP? Ya know..I think before I upgraded XP to SP1, FAME worked..Hmm...Too bad I didn't want to waste the hard drive space so I could downgrade from SP1..Maybe a FAME XP SP1? Heh..
