Real Textures

Post by Jimmyjay86 »

I was out with the digital camera taking pictures of various exterior textures today and snapped this one:

I have others including brick walls, concrete blocks, and brick pavers. I am going to try the perspective corrections to make them flat and may try to skin a few onto tiles. Has anyone made some blank 3-d wall tiles that textures like this can be skinned onto?

Senor Deluxe must have some, but in theory it wouldn't be impossible to make yourself some. You know, I think this texture would be quite good looking with his fence tiles(for a brand new look).

I cleaned the photo up a little more to take out the curvature and will try to cut sections out to make a wall tile. Some of the brick walls that I took pics of will look great as wall tiles and an abandoned building shot will be cool when cut apart as separate tiles. All right I'll experiment a little to come up with a standard 3-d wall-tile unit to match existing tile sizes.

You could cut and paste it. I'm trying a similar method for some wall tiles I've been making. See the appropriate topic.
