Dialog paths + Brotherhood Generals.

Post by JaTe »

Ok so I haven't even looked into this, but it came to me as something to try.

When you talk to the Brotherhood generals it sends you to your Pipboys mission screen where you can select the mission.

What if instead of missions there were dialog paths that could be followed?

This could be much more difficult then how it's being done now, but it's a thought.

What exactly do you have in mind? Could you please be a bit more specific?

I think he's having something like Endocore's dialogue system in mind.

Yeah, I guess that wasn't very clear.

Ok in FO1 and FO2 when you talk to a character you get different paths, yes, no, kill them etc...

In FOT you can't w/o making the "avatars" for dialog options.

But I thought about the FOT campaign. When you click on the General it takes you to the mission list and you can select your mission buy clicking on one. When you click on the mission it loads that breifing.

What if there were a way to make it so you could click on a character and get the breifing screen, but instead of breifings use it for dialog paths.

For example you click on the guy, the breifing screen pops up with some text, then a series of options (instead of missions) then when you click on the one you want it displays more text, gives you an item, displays a town, makes them hostile or whatever.

There is no way to use that particular mission list screen without some serious hacking. Unfortunately most of the serious hacker/coders are not interested in FOT so it is unlikely that will be possible.
