items that hide in the shadows

Post by Strap »

you know how there are some items that are on the ground in different places that are hidden, so they are hard to find.
like some of the ammo in the rad scorpion cave or ammo in V-15.
i was wondering if everyone could make a contribution to all the items they had found in different places. just because i wanted to know how good the stuff got. usually it helps to find this kind of random ammo along your way.

That was on a corpse, though. I don't think I ever found anything other than .223 or 10 mm just lying around in some random location.

Hunting rifle? Where?
Before the war, they were know as milking machines.
Now I use one to piss.
Does that answer your question?

There is no hunting rifle in v15. That' be way too powerful at that point in the game...

One I remember though is a police stick (or whatever) hidden somewhere in the Deathclaw mother's lair. I remember it even though it's worthless at this point becuase it's almost impossible to find: everything is dark there, the stick is black, and to make things worst, the stick is "aligned" with the floor lattes, so you really can't see it. I never found it again. Course... Who the hell cares about it :P

Yeah, I never fully appreciated the hunting rifle until I stole one from some merchant's guard on the way to Vault 15. That thing does a number on rats.

That's for the speech-impaired midget to know and for you to figure out after you talk to him. :)

Speaking of Necropolis, there's a Cattle Prod in the sewers somewhere. Can't remember where exactly, but it should be in the first map under the place you get when you go to Necropolis for the first time (I think itˇs called "Hotel").

Items in the game don't just appear like that (excpet for the original inventory). Either it's always there or it's not.

I just checked it with Dim's mapper2. And even though you can't actually use 2/3 level maps from fallout1 in the mapper right now (0.97b), there is a Hunting rifle in the item list on the map. So there is one, somewhere.

That explains why there's .223 just lying around for the taking in Shady Sands and Vault 15.

I tried finding it but seems my Fallout's broken and as soon as I take a hit the game crashes. I just reinstalled it but I'm a bit tired of trying to find it :P.

For my useless Deathclaw "find", it's the mother with the eggs near the gun runners (hence it being so useless).

yea, red i got what you said. i was just adding that there were no hidden items in the other cave.

also, are there only 2 places to find "junk?" adytum deathclaw area, dead peasent; and necropolis, the second set of sewers accesible through the manhole by the watershed. thats where you get that plazma pistol also. so are there any other places to find junk?

im gonna check vault15 so ill say if i find a rifle
