Fan-made fallout v. Blackisle+interplay fallout

After reading a bunch of threads in 'In the News...' and the bis boards...
Wich would you prefer? A fan-made fallout or one made a game company like blackisle?
The Pros of a fan-made fallout would be we wouldn't be screwed around, feedback everyone reads, helpful updates, it would resemble fallout (unlike fot) and generally be a pretty good fallout experience. Everyone here has more or less the same vision (80+ years after fallout 2, set in the general area of california (possibly more north), 8 or so towns...)
The cons would be the graphics wouldnt be much (Not many of us are 3d moddellers and the current fallout editor resources are scarce), copyrighting, would take ages and if everyone did a little bit of it you'd probably end up with the fo2 collage of easter eggs and personal touches.
The pros of a game company making it would be it could include new sounds, graphics etc. The fans would be suprised at the end, might include tools, KEWAL concept art and HILARIPOUS behind-the-scenes shit that's always fun to look at afterwards and all the other stuff.
The cons would be they would probably screw it up badly (looking at fot), we WOULD be screwed around for ages until we get it (if ever) and we might not get another sequel afterwards.
Thoughts?
