The anti-Torr

i finally found out how to go against torr with the brahmin stealing.

when you first talk to torr (i dont know if not talking to the duntons before this matters, but i didnt) eccept to gaurd the brahmin.
then after killing the first rad-scorpion, go talk to the 2 duntons that are over to the left. you should get dialog options to do their "job"
then you can talk to torr and tell him to run for "help". then the duntons can steal some.
and plus, you can finish the brahmin gaurding quest by killing the rest of the scorpions.

then go back to town and talk to bukner's mom and she says torr, her son, ran off to kill the bugmen. so hes in the canton with the mr.handy.
then you can rescue him and tell her it was the duntons.

and thats how i did it.

Nothing new in there...

Ther is one interesting thing though which few people know: if you talk to the Duntons and accept to russtle the Brahmin and then wimp out by telling them "It's not safe, they're onto us", you get a big Karma bonus (bigger then just killing the rad scorpions).

Might be nothing new there but I never figuered it out. Have both taken & not taken the brahmin guarding & rustling schemes but somehow never managed to get that result. Thanks Strapon2 I'll have to give that a try.
Neat! It's never too late to learn something new.

yea, see, you get it.

i never knew that before, and though that the radscorpion limbs were just part of a broken quest. they are... kindov, but you can still participate in it.

I've once met Torr in the canyon map, but that was a long time ago. I'm not sure how I got it, but I was playing an evil char. Maybe I did the above then...

Yeah, to get Torr to the area with the Mr. Handy you need to convince him to run away for help (or whatever the option was).

The radscorpion limbs are more or less part of a broken quest. You should have been able to tell Mrs. Buckner about it and she would reply something along the lines "I'll take care of these two ruffians". Nothing much more is known about it though. I also remember being able to tell the Duntons about the markings on their Brahmin being "marked off" or something along those lines but I've tried reaching this thread lately with no success. Anyway you can't pull anything out of that conversation anyhow.

Hell, I never knew that. The only way I even knew you could rustle the brahmin was when my friend was piss-farting around on his first game and managed to get it. He then died from the scorpions.

As for the new way, I think I've heard vabout it but never tried... Another reason to start a new game of Fallout 2 as soon as I finish Starcraft: Brood Wars!

With a higher perception you can remark to the Duntons that their cattle seem to have been rebranded, and seem stolen. This thread leads to nothing but combat or the wussing out of the Chosen one in front of the bullies.

Sorry to dig up old threads, but I have a problem with this brahmin rustle.

Do you know what are the char req. for getting it? When I talk to the Duntons (in town) and ask about a job, they just tell me that there is no work for me.

When I talk to them in the brahmin area, and ask about the job, they just say that get the hell out of here, some of us have work to do.

I've never done this quest and just started a game of FO2 to try this. Please help.

Talk to Torr and help him out instead... There is no requirement for that.

i think you tell him that you cant help him, and then something happens later

I know there is no requirement for helping Torr, but the brothers won't give me the job once I'm there helping Torr.

did you kill all the scorpions?
i think i only got it when i killed the first one only.

but then again, i would assume that you needed lower karma. a good guy wouldnt wanna do that to a fellow tribal, now would he?

Yeah I thought of lower karma too, so Falched the char for -30 karma. No difference.

oh and I killed only 1 scorp... I know I've got the job from the brothers (maybe about 2 years ago), but for some reason, I can't get it anymore.

Heh... also, if you rustle the Brahmin from Torr, and then go rescue him from the canyon, you can get Mrs. Buckner to free Sulik as your reward, as opposed to having to pay $350 or sludging knee-deep through radioactive sludge to free Smiley.

Just a quick way to liberate Sulik and get'em on your team early in the game.

Also, I think you have to have either a nuetral karma or negative karma in order for the Duntons to trust you to help steal the brahmin.

You get him free for saving smiley too so... who cares...

Like our friend who's name I've forgotten said, rescuing Smiley is harder than rescuing Torr from the canyon.
