hey guys. got a little bored so i thought i'd stop by and say hi. i've been busy with school and work, but still manage to tinker with mapping on my free time. just to show that i haven't completely flaked on my "map rat" title, i've actually been working (STILL) on that church idea for an HQ.
in a little while, though, i'll need some help with creating a few new entities. hope you guys are up for it. 8O
see you guys around.

Hey, that looks damn good! One suggestion: You might want to put some floor tiles around the main building. Otherwise, the player's cursor will turn into a red X when they point near the outer walls, and that makes navigating the edges of the rooms rather frustrating.

Hehehe oh, I wasn't finished with it... I actually plan to put this thing in the corner of a town ... so the whole town is basically the HQ.
I've learned that it's easier to make complex buildings on a separate file, then just select all tiles and past them to the main map when you're done ... otherwise, it gets slow and choppy...
there's an interesting tip for the new mappers
oh, and the main map isn't goin as smooth, though. so far, i've only finished a detailed hotel building...

Hey WB!
Yes, I agree that your Church/HQ looks pretty good. ("Mmmm...earth tones...")
I know what you mean about large buildings. This is why I have "construction.mis" where I build those types of buildings and then paste 'em onto the map I'm working on. It was a good idea to bring that up for the "n00bs", though.
Good luck and happy mapping,
OTB
