Duck and Cover

I've created new entities for my missions but they
don't use the weapons i assign to them, only using HtH attacks.
I think they keep removing the weapons i place in their hands.
What am i doing wrong.
The entity has enough skills and traits to use it, enough ammo.

Probably a matter of the specified races. Most of civilians can't use any weapon(citizen Alpha pistols only). Deathclaws can't either, Super Mutants can't equip small guns.
Btw, did you provide them with ammo? Cause you need to add it to the inventory,if you want them to be able to use weapons.

I think it did have to do with the races(didn't think of that)
I used a vault 0 citizen as race.

Yes that's what I did, in my first entities creation too. Unfortunatelly VD's can't use any weapon or wear armor(I've found some workarounds to use in my missions but it still looks ugly).
