Hi everyone,
Well, its been a couple of years since I last played FO2, and when I last played I wanted to play the most evil, heartless, murderous piece of trash to ever befoul the wastes. At that time I was flying blind (which was actually a lot of fun) because there weren't any FAQs or walkthroughs for the evil minded. Now I am of a mind to play the evil scum again, there is an evil walkthrough on GameFaq.com.

I've read through it, and considering how much time and effort it takes to put together something like that I will refrain from saying something negative about the "evil walkthrough" and simply say that I personally wouldn't follow it explicitly. I'm not saying the walkthrough is wrong or stupid, I just have a fundamentally different view on being evil, and I remember doing things a little differently.
I'm sure that "get to the f**ckin' point" is on your minds right now. As I said, I am going to play the "Big Evil" in FO2 again, and I would like to put something together for others out there who would like to play evil but don't quite know how to go about it. There are a lot of good, comprehensive walkthoughs out there, and trying to make another one seems like a bad idea for me, so what I would like to do is build a "Frequently Asked Questions on Being Evil In Fallout 2".
Thats why I need help from you guys. Send any questions you have about doing things the bad way to
evilgurufallout2@yahoo.com, pretty please. Please try to email them to me rather than posting replies with questions here, that would be a BIG help.
An example could be:
Q. How do I kill everyone in Vault City without having Vic turn against me for shooting his daughter?
A.Let Vic kill her by himself.

Anyway, i'd just like to salute you, because many people talk about making an evil guide/faq, but you're actually doing something about it! I'm of course assuming that you mean "evil" as in doing bad quests, not just sweeping the town...right?

Both, if you like. I mean I've done both, so I'm confident I could answer questions on both. But I think (hope) most questions will be on the subject of quests done the evil way.
Sweeping towns/areas isn't that hard for well equiped, high level characters, but I have swept areas with a low level character which requires some ingenuity (its also more fun that way, mass-murder is boring if its too easy). Of course, sometimes depending on NPCs, some towns have certain obstacles to sweeping, but I've been able to overcome that.
Oh, and thanks for the salute and vote of confidence.

I didn't see any harm in making this a sticky for a time...
If/when this will be completed or cancled for whatever reason (lack of time, death of writer, end of the world, etc.) I'll take it off.

Hmm, if it's the end of the world though, how will you remove it? Chances are you'll be dead, or at best the internet connection will be dead...
Dunny thing that internet was build in case one day there was a nuclear strike, the network would still work.
In the state the ISPs work and their off time I'm quite certain NOTHING will work if such a thing happens :P

Thanks for the sticky, still no ???s emailed yet, but I'm sure that'll take a little while. There's gotta be ppl with burning, evil questions.
If there is a nuke strike, the internet won't work for us/the comsumer, but it will be working for the inventors (U.S.DoD). Like you said, Red, that's why they invented it. No, it wasn't Al Gore, I think he was still running a tabacco farm back them.

You win the prize for the first question asked. I would like to re-iterate that I would really prefer to have the questions emailed to me at

Your question is so good that I will take the time to answer it here, and hope that it will inspire others to email me questions. Also, this would be strictly for FO2 as I haven't played FO1 as an evil person yet.
Simple question, big answer. I'll try to be brief (yeah right).
1)Mainly for the experience of being evil. FO2 is one of VERY few (too few if you ask me) RPGs that do the evil thing right. Most, if not all, other RPGs on the market allow you to create a character with an evil "alignment", but you basically end up being a "do-gooder for hire" with no real option to complete quests in an evil way. What's the point in that? This game lets you be evil for real, so you might as well try it once. Don't feel guilty, that town you just doomed is really only a bunch of 1s and 0s anyway.
2)Almost every quest, including the main plot quest, can be completed by evil means. And, of course, you can agree to do quests specifically designed for evil-doers. What other game offers that?
3)Loot! Being free of strict moral restraints has its benefits. Stealing, burglery, robbing graves, way-laying traveling caravans, you get easy experience, easy equipment, and easy money. Well, its not always easy, but the payoff is bigger. Besides, from a roleplaying point of view, if you're gonna use the steal or lockpick skills to any degree it just makes sense to be a bad guy. Remember, stealing from people because their evil doesn't justify the act, its still wrong. Killing people because their evil doesn't make you good unless its for the right reason, and evil people kill each other all the time.
4)Consequences. You will pay for your crimes! If your a bad guy, you can't finish the game the same way you always do, certain people won't cooperate with you, certain NPCs won't join with you. Oppourtunities that you normally take advantage of won't be available. This makes the same game like a whole new, different game, breathing new life into those worn out pair of shoes, if you will.
5)Bounty hunters & posses. This kind of falls in between reasons 3 & 4. Posses usually suck, but its still experience and loot. Bounty hunters on the other hand can be very hard to beat, and their difficulty increases as your char. level and negative karma increase. This may sound bad on the surface, but the pay off is huge. You get big wads of experience and killer loot. Normally you might pay a fortune to get a plasma rifle or a gauss rifle, and ammo for these high end toys can be very rare and very expensive. High level bounty hunters, however, drop this stuff like its garbage, and if you don't need it you can always trade for those VERY expensive drugs.
6)Those very expensive drugs. Again, from a role playing point of view, it just makes sense that if you are going to abuse drugs you should play an evil character. Good people just don't use drugs. If you are evil, you should abuse drugs, the side affects of being an addict make for an interesting game, and boosting stats after you level up can give you access to perks that your normal stats won't allow.
7)Of course, there is the story. The story-line of the game will be different when you play as an evil person, and so will the stories in the ending sequence. Again, it makes it seem like you are playing a whole new game.
This is such a good question that I'm sure I'll think of 10 more reasons over the next day or so. I hope my reasons here have piqued everyones curiosity enough for you to try an evil character (and email me a bunch of your own questions about being evil *hint hint*).

Eh, sounds like the Quest Walkthrough I was making a while back, until my Fo2 CD got magically killed (read: coke spilt on it, and never wiped off until a week later, when it was all sticky and stuff....).
I managed to write up to New Reno, or something. Not too sure, I haven't looked at it in a while. If you want, I could send you it, as I stuffed pretty much everyway to do the quests in it. (including evil ways).

Egads!! Coke is very acidic (sniff :mourning the passing of your CD: sniff). Good thing you can get both Fallouts for $9.95 (if you live in the U.S.).
Sure, please send whatever you have, I would be greatful. What I plan to do rather than a walkthrough though is a FAQ, where the questions on top are hyperlinked to the answers in the document. There are so many well writen, comprehensive walkthroughs out there, there is no way that I could write one nearly as good. What I want to make would be like a supplement to your preffered walkthrough, where you read how do get/do the quest in-depth (good way), then hopefully refer to the Evil FAQ for the pointers on doing it the bad way.
This of course will take some time to finish, depending on how many folks want to send me questions. I got 2 so far since posting on monday. One from Radoteur posted here, and one emailed to me from Strapon2. Thanks guys, both great questions! I also will be spending the next few months studying for various certification tests. It will be a labor of love, though, so it will get done eventually.

It'll be nice to know how much evil the NPCs on the player's team can sustain til they brake and leave the party. general info will be nice. detailed info about each NPC will be nicer. no reply will be nice too :)

I know that Sulik will leave if you be a slaver. He will help in the first slaving mission. (Don't ask me why.)
I'd recommend selling him off then becoming a slaver. (If possible.)
I don't know about anyone else, since I reloaded after being a slaver for a day.

He doesn't like it if your Karma drops below -1000 I think. That is when he says 'you be having issues with de people' (or some shit) and won't join you (but he doesn't outright attack you).
Obviously if you become a slaver he buggers off. However you SHOULD have sold him well before that. He is worth $1800 with a bit of speech and charisma. I've heard of selling him for even more ($2000+) as well. If you are going to be evil, sell all the NPC's you can EXCEPT Vic. As for the other question (already covered sulik)
It'll be nice to know how much evil the NPCs on the player's team can sustain til they brake and leave the party. general info will be nice. detailed info about each NPC will be nicer. no reply will be nice too :)
While Vic is a big sack of potatoes for the most part, I don't think he ever leaves even if you have ultra low karma.
This is what I know about the other NPCs:
Myron doesn't care about your Karma (Particularly if you're a woman).
Goris can't join you if you have low karma (For reasonably obvious reasons to most I hope).
Cassidy won't join you if you are a dirty evil slaver, but I'm not sure about negative Karma in general.
Marcus won't join unless you have positive Karma. Besides you have to help all the people in broken hills (blah). I normally use that serum on him just to watch him melt.
I don't think either of the cyberdogs care (Though again I cannot be 100% sure on that one, I rarely use them).
Skynet doesn't mind, and you can get infinite low karma by getting the pariah dog and continually trying to remove its brain (-100 each time I think).
I'm not 100% sure on the people you can marry, but I do know that it's worth more just to sell them into slavery (or just pimp her, whatever). They will probably not leave you despite your Karma.
Some of this is pretty rough though, it has been ages since I bothered even using some of these characters before.

Short answer: I don't really know, most times I'm too evil to recruit the goody-two-shoes, or if I do I sell them into slavery right away (about $1500 for Sulik & Cassidy each). I do remember Cassidy being so disgusted with my evil ways in one game that, part way through killing the ghouls of Gecko, he turned traitor and began attacking me! Not very good if you've loaded him up with quality equipment. I'll do the research, though.
I do know who will stick with you no matter what, though:
1) Vic, of course. You own him after all. He has 6 stages of development, and around stage 3 or 4 his specialty changes from Repair to Small Arms, and he can do some major damage with a Sniper Rifle. In my current game he is beating me about 5 to 1 on critical hits. He's really the #1 "goto guy" for the evil character.
2)Miria, or her brother (forgot his name). You're married after all. You can make Miria do some nasty shit: fluffer at the porn studio, or pimp her out to trappers (random encounters on world map) for gecko pelts if you don't any money on you, but this does not affect your karma, so its better just to sell her/him into slavery.
3)Myron. I just keep him to carry stuff, or I leave him in Den in case I need him to make drugs. Useless in combat.
4)Skynet Robot. You just have to make sure you get the S.A.D. quest before you get to evil or do to many wierd things.
5)Robodog from NCR. So-so NPC, no where near as good as...
6)Dogmeat, if you're lucky enough to get him. Once he gains a couple of level stages, he knocks the enemy down just about every time he hits them, robbing them of those precious APs. My second favorite NPC pick (for an evil character), next to Vic.

Might be worth finding out then. I'm playing Fallout 2 with an Evil Character right now and could try picking up cassidy. I could then just do random evil things until he turns on me.

What about Lenny actually, I don't think either of us considered him.
Mind you, you probably have to massacre the ghouls afterwards, and he probably turns on you. Also what about the other cybernetic dog in Navvaro? Mind I do think he might turn on you. Can't remember, either that or he just bitches a lot.

I think the Navarro Cyber dog will leave you when you reach negative karma.

Lenny! I've played FO2 a ton of times and I've NEVER recruited him, good or evil. I know that even though other ghouls might want you dead, you can still trade with the arms dealer in gecko (until the destroyed reactor kills them all). I'm gonna have to try Lenny.
Ditto on melting Marcus. Thats too funny to resist.
The cyberdog in Navarro has a problem with evil people, and even though I killed the scientist holding him hostage (dumbass has a sound-proof lab), and even though I repaired him with the K-9 motor, he still wouldn't join me.
The NCR cyberdog I just use for fodder, if he dies, he dies. Screw 'em, he can't compare to Dogmeat in a fight. I can't remeber, does Dogmeat take up an NPC slot?
To get the SAD quest from Wright, you can't be a slaver, or a childkiller, or a pornstar, or a made man for another family, and if you're karma is too low his son won't let you in to see him. You can just sneak past his son though, Mr. Wright doesn't care how low your karma is as long as you don't have any of the above mentioned traits. I usually get the SAD quest, then give a gun to one of the children outside and tell him to "show it to dad, and make sure to pull the lever thingy". Good times.
