Resupply

I was wondering, do the QM's, traders, etc resupply ever or once you buy all the 12 Ga. and 7.62mm available at the bunker is it gone? Right now, I've just completed Macomb and my PC is a Squire. I understand that I can't buy better weapons until my rank is high enough, but isn't there a way to pick up more ammo?

No, they resupply when you complete the next mission. Some desert traders do not resupply at all. If you want to have more 7.62 ammo, try to steal it from those guards with m60 (not only ammo  ).

If you are in Macomb, then you've got two bunkers to explore - should be kinda nice ammount of gear to ehmm.. "borrow".

You can also try to wander around the wastes and hunt on some raiders, but this way you usually lose more ammo you get. :(

save your 7.62 mm ammo.

and spend all those 9mm ammo. You will need the 7.62mm ammo for the tougher fights ahead.

One of the things about this game is that the useful ammo is not all that easy to get. Which means that you better be stingy with what you have. Make sure your squad can use several types of weapons so that you aren't dependent on only miniguns. Each person should have a backup weapon that uses different ammo.

well once you get energy weapons and ammo for them, don't worry too much. You'll have plenty of ammo for those things.

Are you saying that you actually use miniguns, young man?? The only one worth keeping IMO is the Guass minigun in the final robot missions as the others just waste ammo and cause too much friendly fire damage if used indoors....

I recently replayed the core campaign in a three day orgy of death and mayhem and along w/other unconventional techniques, tactics and approaches I used were to have Stein use an Avenger Minigun. It actually proved to be quite devastating when he popped up at long range and simply sprayed areas down, for instance at Junction City at the Reaver camp. Besides, what else are you going to do w/all of the 5.56mm ammo?

OTB

In the preceeding missions, I used 5.56mm ammo in the M16A1 as it has slightly better range and damage than the hunting rifle. I also replace one of my AK47's with the XL70E after I loot it from the St. Louis mission as it does more burst damage than the AK47.

I'd be very interested in hearing more on the devious tactics you mentioned in passing....
