Captain of the Guard

Post by Kashluk »

How to do it? :-/

Damn...

I've taken the holodisk from Bishop's safe, wiped out the raiders, taken the account book (or whatever) and given the stuff to Lynette. Then went to NCR and exchanged disks with Westin and gave his disk to Lynette. And called her "First Citizen" every single time I talked to her and made sure she didn't get mad.

What am I doing wrong? I still don't get "promotion to captain of the guard", only some shitty reward to pick up from the amenities office?! Or is there some trick you have to do before finishing Lynette's quests? Do I need to solve the Gecko-thingy in some specific manner?

You have top lul her up with some extra compliments... You need to reach a kind of zenith in compliments. Remember though that each time you "distrub her" by talking it'll lower the counter.

There's at least one loop you can exploit in the dialog to raise this counter. It's all described in one of the bibles.

- You get discounts from all stores (not that it's worth a shit, anyhow)

- You can bring mutants & ghouls in VC, as long as you don't show 'em to Lynette

- You're the BOSS of those armed citizens... imagine... it's a huge ego boost ;)

Read the FOB. It's in there somewhere.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Fallout Bible 6
Nothing special, simply do all the goody goody things for Vault City.
Wipe out raiders
Present evidence
relay holodiscs
you only have to be extra nice to lynette in vault city.

Being captain doesnt do much beyond getting the satisfaction of watching Stark(guy in detention centre) squirm and pay back cassidy for trashing his bar.
What's the big idea?

Yeah, by the time you get to be Captain of the guard, you've got no more reasons to go into Vault City.

There are a number of bonuses. For one thing, you can finally bring mutants into VC and get free healing for them. And if you take Marcus to the VC autodoc, the doctor will remove a huge heap of ammo from Marcus' skin and give it to you. Also, I believe that if you bring Lenny to the same VC doctor, they'll strike up a conversation on doctoring and there might be some goodies to be had.

.... excuse me? Is that for real or did you make that up? 8-o

Because if it IS for real, I'm going to start playing FO2 again!

It's true. It was in the FOB. I'm not sure about Lenny, though.

Yeah. Hey, VasikkA, could you try bringing Lenny to the doctor in VC? I want to see if there's anything to be had from that.

Yeah it's all true... You can bring Lenny but nothing special happens.

The only other special thing is that you can talk to the guard guy for some XP if you bring cassidy along.
