TeamX presents: the Arroyo-Klamath mod

Post by Kreegle »

[ -> N/A]

Time to celebrate, people - the demo for the biggest Fallout 2 mod ever has just landed on your doorstep. The fine, talented folks at TeamX have created this... the "Arroyo-Klamath" mod demo. Here's the details:
This demo version is a fully working and well tested part of a much larger Arroyo-Klamath MOD. In the demo version we have included several people, quests, items etc. We hope the result is sophisticated and of quality. Also, we hope that Fallout fans will take some time to play and enjoy this demo version.

Changes summary:

Temple of Trials quest has been significantly changed - from Klint and Cameron; to doors and traps! Now enemies are much stronger. Sex and other characteristics now affect how you pass the Trial and the other quests. Inside the Temple you can find 7 new items. The end of the Temple is now different from the original.

4 Arroyo characters (Hakunin, Lucas, Warriors and Villagers) are fully modified. You will have to choose between two quests "become a shaman apprentice" and "became an apprentice warrior". Both quests are difficult, with a time limit, and require travelling to Klamath. Hakunin and Lucas now can teach the player character on improving weapon skills etc. Quests completion and character behavior significantly depends on gender and intelligence. You can find 10 new items in Arroyo, some of them becoming available only after completion of some quests.

NOTE: This is only a short description of the demo version. We won't describe it in detail, because we don't want to detract from the enjoyment of the game. You can find everything by yourself. But we should emphasize that some characters are unchanged, because they aren't included in this demo. The full version of the Arroyo-Klamath MOD will correct this in the near future!
Grab the 3.7 meg file from <a href="http://www.teamx.ru/cgi-bin/load.cgi?fi ... eamX.ru, or alternative snatch it directly from us. Cheers to Kaczor from the Vault Dweller's Home Page for the heads-up!

Is TeamX planning to redo the entire game?
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I think I will wait until the full re-make is out. But it looks promising, I'll give them that.

Oh God, no! He don't wanna play Arroyo-Klamath MOD! That is realy a problem... ;) What is bad about the Temple becomes harder? That doesn't means that only enemies are stronger now. There are some A-BSO-LUT-LY new quests added. Anyway, I hope other fallout-fans will enjoy playing our mod.

Best regards from TeamX! and sorry for my horrible english.

Well, since the Temple was the most stupid part of the game, making it harder makes it even more difficult to play a non-combat character...

I cannot believe the whinging that is coming from these ungrateful oafs!

My friend from Team X, I've had a stab at your new mod and it looks very promising. The tweaks to the Temple of Trials was a great relief from the usual drudgery that has to be worked through at the start of a FO2 session. Keep up the good work, no matter what flak may be thrown at you.

Come on, you lot. This is the first taste of something new on the Fallout RPG scene in God knows how long. Let's show Team X a bit of support, eh?

I am very glad that there are Fallout Fans who present new mods.

One question to the actual mod:
In the temple there is a door which must be broken with dynamite. But in the mod there is no dynamite.
How can I open the door. When I try to use lockpick - i get the message "You cant close the door".
But it is not open...

So I cant go on testing the mod...

Anyone knows help ?

I think the original reason why a lot of people went to get Fallout and Fallout 2 was because of the play variety in choosing different character types and ways to play through. Making it even more restrictive to play the game puts it more into a Baldur's Garbage tint.

Hey, anyone else remember the warm reception for Dildo and his mod that had material that was way out in left field?

Think :). Look, we said that Temple of Trial is fully changed. There is not dynamite, there is something else. And if you are thief there is something for you :). We said also that trial passing depends on your sex. Try to play woman :) and you'll see how ;). TeamX is working on Fallout not Doom. Russian fans have no problems with the passing :) so what is with you?

Well I dunno, Rosh. We need to take a leap of faith when a new mod comes out and give the writers some support and credit. If we just pan a modder's work out of hand, as some have done before even installing it and trying it, we might as well give up on the hope of ever seeing new Fallout material. Bar the vague hope of getting Fallout 3.

Team X have put some really nice, new touches in both the Temple and Arroyo that I've seen so far. If this is just a demo, I'm already looking forward to the real deal.

Yes! I hear you, my friend! Thanks for your dear words about our MOD, and of course we will try to make something really big in future. I hope that's only first step of our long way :) We are planning to add some interesting changes in full version of this mod. For example new special encounters in Arroyo-Klamath area.

(Wasteland Ghost, don't kill me! I know that was a great secret!)

Best regards!
