Hey guys, I've downloaded the ROE demo, but can't make it work. Something about not beeng able to read the 'mission01.mis' file.
Anyway, I read on another topic, that I should try the '-path option'.
How do I do that, and could someone tell that step by step?

I wouldn't bother, I don't think using the -path option will fix that sort of problem but if you want to give it a go then,
Firstly you've installed the ROE demo into your FOT folder, so best to get rid of it since it sounds like it's corrupted. You'll can do this by deleting your core folder as the instructions in the ROE readme. Unless you've backed up the core folder somewhere else you'll probably have to uninstall then re-install FOT. Once you've done that extract the files from the ROE zip file into another folder NOT the FOT folder, Make sure 'use folder names' is checked. This will create a new core folder and subfolders. Change the name of the new core folder to something else, like ROE. Then drag or cut and paste the renamed folder into the FOT folder so that it's next to the original core folder so the path looks like this
Depending on where you've installed FOT,
C:\Program Files\14 Degress East\Fallout Tactics\ROE
or
C:\Fallout Tactics\ROE
etc
Then in your start bar Run the BOS.exe with a command line like this
"C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics\BOS.exe" -path ROE
Obviously if you've installed FOT to a different directory you'll need to edit it i.e,
"C:\Fallout Tactics\BOS.exe" -path ROE
Then choose single player and start a new game.
If you're still not sure do a search on the forum for '-path', there are several topics that discuss it.

How do I do that? I mean, I don't see BOS.exe in the start bar. How do I do that command line?

Perhaps start bar was the wrong term, click on 'Start', you'll get a menu open up, above 'Shut Down' it says 'Run' click on this and in the field that opens type in the command line.
Request to Moderators, can you merge this thread with the other ROE thread or move it to somewhere more appropriate, it's not worth having 2 threads about ROE and this ain't exactly a review. : )

I don't think it can be merged with the other topic. Any other suggestions?? Maybe put it in Mapping?

Hmmm... dern it, no "merge" function... guess I'll just leave it here for now. I suppose I could copy/paste the whole thread into the existing thread about RoE and delete this one... hmm... Technically, it belongs in the Mapping forum, but I don't wanna move it and have the author not able to find it, and leaving a "shadow" topic is pretty dumb, IMO.
Anyway, back on topic: If it says it "cannot read" the .mis file, you might have a corrupted download -- try downloading it again.
I haven't played the map myself (I think it's too dern complicated to use properly and I'm a mapper!), so any advice I could give would be generally speaking, including the above.

Probably not as complicated for a non mapper who hasn't unpacked everything to speed up their game, it's been so long I can't remember what a virgin installation of FOT looks like before you unpack all the .BOS files. : ) I pity though, the person who's unpacked everything to speed up the game, deleted the majority of their .BOS files to save disc space and installed this directly into their FOT folder. Can we say Ouch!
If the guest who made this thread is the same one who posted to the end of the other ROE thread, then they were pretty impatient for an answer, perhaps if you gave it to after the weekend and then moved the thread. I'm sure they'll of read it by then.
