Sorry, I know this has probably been asked before but anyway.. how do you get a picture of the map? I mean in the level editor. I want to put in a new image for the mini-map but I don't know how to get it in the first place. I hope this isn't going to be something complicated...

Thanks, I saved that bit as a text file. I'll try to put the minimaps in when I get around five missions fixed up. Spit and polish so to speak.. along with various ambient sounds.

I've only got around a third of my tiles down and already the map is too big to render. I could take the cut and paste route and stitch it all together in Corel, but having a look at the mini map for Quagmire I don't think it's really worth the effort. You can barely see any details in Endocore's mini map and my map is already bigger (though not as good looking). I don't want to leave the mini map blank, has anyone got any suggestions for alternatives?

You could always hand draw a map. It could even be more of a schematic like a highway map.

Hmm I suppose I could neaten/fancy up my map plan and scan it. Just wish I had taken those art courses.

You don't need to be an artist to draw a map. If the characters themselves were to draw the map, how do you think it would look?

Yeah you could make it look like a crumpled map drawn by a half-illiterate slaver with two fingers missing! Draw it on faded, torn paper with a broken crayon.

Sneeze on it a couple of times and then blow your nose on it as well. Make sure you leave a big slimy one.
Just be careful that its not so damp that when you try to remove it from your scanner it has dried and stuck to it. Of course you could always use some goo be gone or orange cleaner stuff to get it off.
If you add feces you might want to invest in some disinfectant. Oh, and go ahead and look for a new home while you're at it. If you're living with other people they'll run you off afterwards.
Alternatively you could sneak and do this where you work and just leave it for someone else to clean up.
-- BTW this was all a joke and not meant to be taken seriously. I do not recommend any of the above. Besides, you might get ink poisoning or something if you wipe with your map ;)

Also you could play with brush sizes and colors. E.g. a red square as the main obj. building, a blue/ green circle is your team and the like...
Cheers,

Better than what I could do : ) I'd assume that the BOS would have scribes trained in map making.

I was mainly being wistful, but it's actually not that easy for me to draw something in character, I lack the talent : ) : ).
