Do they have eyes? I cant realy see in the game if they do, and there is no concept art for me to varify.

Try the target mode in the game.

If they have eyes it should show there, even if its only labelled.

Are they plants?

I always thought that they were a little venus fly trapish, and decided to go looking for the fly.

From what I can understand, they're snake-like creatures, not plants, danferry.

Its actually quite a creative idea for a monster: Its head manages to stay above the ground because there's a disk under the head(Kill it and you can clearly see from one of the angles that its a metal disk) which helps it levitate(Hence the "floater"), and he moves using his muscular tail, which is devided into a lower part, which seems purely muscle, and an upper part, which looks a bit spine-like, but You cant realy tell.

Then you have the mouth, which is a gaping hole where his "head" is, you have a lot of scattered teeth and in the middle there's an alien-like tongue which he attacks with and which also look like a gripping tool, for obvious reasons. There is also a "stomach", at least, I think its a stomach. If you check the target mode, you can clearly see a part of the flesh which isnt directly a part of the tail, and then there's a big blob area, I assumed its the stomach part, who knows.

I think the flesh on his lower part of the "head" looks like its melting because thats where the disk is, I guess inserting it might of caused the flesh to melt like that, but it was probably done to make it look more grotesque. There is also a "stomach" at least, I think its a stomach. If you check the

There's also this ovalitor(Im probably spelling it wrong) which is sticking out of its neck. My best guess is that the creator wanted him to look like its a natural beast, or maybe to explain why there are so fucking many of them all over the game.

Thing is, I know about the ganglions, but a ganglion is a group of nerves that isnt a part of the central nerve system, I dont know if you can call that "eyes", and there isnt a single art image to just check it out.

I always thought the 'melting flesh' were air sacks, and thats how it stayed afloat.

Same here, but after I studied it(AKA after I shot the poor creature in all possible angles with all possible types of guns), I realized there's a metal disk on the lower part of the head(Where I previously thought a giant asshole resides), which, I guess, keeps his head floating.

Or it could have pretty high muscle deffinition, which allows it to keep it's head like that.

presuming that the metal plate that you thought what the massive ass hole, where is the real ass hole?
and what is the purpose of the teeth if they dont mash... im guessing to restrain the victim until it is digested enough to pass into the stomach

End of the tail could have an exit, or he could just puke out the remains of the victim ala owl style... Just guessing though.

We dont know that he has no teeth on the inside of the mouth, we cant realt see.

Alright, after a bit of a chat with a friend of mine, he informed me that when you shoot the float sacs and manage a critical hit, the creature "bursts into flames", so the idea of him floating thanks to gasses in his sacs are much more likely then an antigravity device under its head, which also requires a power source(and no, it probably doesnt run on litium batteries ;) ).

So I take what I said back.

Also, we agreed that since it evolved from a worm(assuming its a result of the FEV virus infecting worms, from the dat tapes), it most likely eats its victims by melting them like most worms do, and the "tongue attack" is basicly it throwing some corrosive substance at you.

THIS IS THE END OF YOUR BRIEFING YOU CAN GO NOW BYE BYE.

ROFL. Anyways, yeah, they have gasses inside those sacs or whatever to keep them afloat. This is seen by using energy-weapons on them. They, seemingly, have an increased chance of hitting crittically not to mention that killing a floater with an energy-weapon always results in them bursting into flames and turning into ash...
